iQOO is preparing to launch a new smartphone, the iQOO Z9, in India on March 12. The company has revealed many details about the phone, including its MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, dual camera setup with a 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor, and features such as a 120 Hz AMOLED display with 300 Hz touch sampling rate and up to 1800 nits of brightness. The design of the iQOO Z9 includes a matte back with a two-tone green color scheme, a vertically-aligned camera module, and metal edges. The phone will be an Amazon exclusive and is expected to be competitively priced, likely below Rs 20,000, to compete with other smartphones in the market.
Specification of iQOO Z9 5G launch
The phone is anticipated to run on the Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14. The camera setup may include a 50MP primary sensor, and it will have a 5,000 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. The phone will be 7.83mm thick and available in Brushed Green color with a metallic finish. It is expected to be priced below Rs 25,000 in India. The iQOO Z9 5G will compete with the upcoming Nothing Phone 2a, which is set to launch on March 5 in India and will also feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, 12GB RAM, and an additional 8GB of virtual RAM, being manufactured in India.
iQOO Z9 5G camera quality and soft ware
The iQOO Z9 features a 50 MP Sony IMX882 camera with an f/1.79 aperture and OIS capabilities. It can capture full-resolution 50 MP images and offers a 2x zoom feature that likely uses in-sensor zoom technology to maintain detail. The camera includes various modes like Night Mode, portrait modes, 50 MP UHD mode, Pro Mode, Supermoon (up to 20x), and more. It can record 4K video at 30 fps and 1080p video at 30 or 60 fps, with the option for stabilisation.
Software- The iQOO Z 9 5G is expected to run on the latest version of Android 14 operating system (Funtouch OS 14) which is based on Android 14. This is the same operating system used on the iQOO Neo 9 Pro launched earlier this year.
Battery- iQoo Z9 5G will come with a 5,000mAh battery, which can be quickly recharged with the 44W charger included in the box.
Other elements offered by iQOO Z9 5G smartphone
Furthermore, many design elements of the iQOO Z9 have been officially revealed through various teasers released by the company. Upon closer inspection of the teaser images, it becomes apparent that the back of the phone has a matte finish with a two-tone design in green shades, resembling water splashes. The camera setup is visible, showcasing a vertically-aligned arrangement with the lower lens featuring optical image stabilization (OIS), possibly housing a 50 MP IMX 882 lens. The camera is equipped with an ‘Aspherical premium lens’ to enhance photo clarity, particularly in wide aperture shots, and minimize color distortion.
The good news for gamers is : the iQOO Z9 will use an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of of 300Hz . Furthermore , iQOO reports that the smartphone’s display will have a maximum brightness AMOLED in segment.
The teasers have also confirmed that the iQOO Z9 will be an exclusive offering on Amazon, indicating that it will only be available on the e-commerce platform. Additionally, it has been revealed that the iQOO Z9 5G will have a flat display and flat edges, with the teasers suggesting that the edges will be made of metal .
In terms of pricing, considering that the iQOO Z9 is the successor to the iQOO Z7, which was priced below Rs 20,000, it is expected that the Z9 will be similarly priced.
