Lisa from Blackpink has been honored with induction into the Asian Hall of Fame Class of 2023 for her noteworthy contributions to Asian culture and society.

Blackpink’s Lisa has achieved another impressive milestone in her already successful career. Having established countless records on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music charts Lalisa Manobal made history by being the first K-pop artist to accomplish this achievement.

Asian Hall of Fame

The Asian Hall of Fame was founded in 2004 with the aim of enlightening people about Asian influences on the United States and the global stage, as well as fostering Asian artistic excellence transcending various cultures. Distinguished individuals from diverse fields are eligible to make it to the list. In the current year, sixteen individuals are honored, including Cinema Director/Writer Adele Lim, Wella Company CEO Annie Young Scrivner, Blackpink’s Lisa, Charlie and Ling Zhang, Doug Baldwin Jr, Dr. Lisa T. Su, Dr. Peter P. Lee, Dr. Shang-Li and Betty Huang, Far East Movement, Jennifer Lee, Kiet Nguyen, Kim Thayil, Pin Ni, Rep. Marilyn Strickland, and Sam Cho. The induction took place at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles California.

About Lisa

Lalisa Manobal, known as Lisa, is a Thai artist who excels as a rapper, singer, and dancer. She is a valuable member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, which made its debut under YG Entertainment on August 16.

 In September 2021, Lisa marked her solo debut with the release of her single album “Lalisa.” This achievement set a historic milestone, as she became the first female artist in South Korea to sell a remarkable 736,000 copies of an album within its inaugural week. The music video for the title track, “Lalisa,” garnered an astounding 73.6 million views on YouTube within a mere 24 hours, establishing a new record for the most-viewed solo artist music video in its first day on the platform. Notably, both “Lalisa” and her infectious second single, “Money,” achieved unprecedented success by becoming the first album and song by a K-pop soloist to amass 1 billion streams on Spotify, respectively.

Beyond her music endeavors, Lisa has been elegantly featured on the covers of magazines, serving as the brand ambassador for the esteemed luxury fashion house Celine and the Italian jewelry brand Bvlgari.
