Taking place on an outdoor runway surrounded by turf at the UNESCO offices, Pharrell Williams, the men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton, opened Paris Fashion Week on June 18th. For its Spring/Summer 2025 men’s line, the well-known fashion brand—which is most known for its distinctive damier patterns and monogrammed luggage—embraced a travel theme.

Williams-produced music was played by an orchestra and choir as models walked down the grass runway wearing perfectly fitted suits, sleek bomber jackets, fur coats, sunglasses studded with rhinestones, and big brooches shaped like aircraft wings.
There were glittering new interpretations of the pixelated Damier check pattern and silk-style pyjama suits that were popular during Williams’ time.
Sustainability and Inclusivity
Throughout the collection, Pharrell advertised sustainability and diversity through the show. Models from different cultural backgrounds and physiques walked the runway, demonstrating the designs’ enduring popularity. The programme notes described the model selection as “a palette rendered in the nuances of skin tones of all the humans on the planet,” with colour coding used to coordinate skin tones with clothing. It was claimed that a large number of the items were made with ethical production methods and environmentally friendly components.

As France prepares for the summer Olympics and two rounds of elections in the coming weeks that have thrown the nation into political turmoil, the men’s fashion presentations in Paris will be followed by Haute Couture Week.
