Max Verstappen was announced the world champion on Saturday, 7th October 2023, making him the 3rd time World Champion, Max Verstappen has won 3 titles consecutively; 2021, 2022, and 2023, 2021 being the most exciting one in which he beat the 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton in a last race which was the decider.
Max Verstappen only needed 3 points to win the Championship, in the sprint held in Qatar he won the championship by finishing 2nd in the race which was won by Oscar Paistri, this is the first time Oscar has won any race in Formula One, although it was just a sprint but he scored the most points that is 8 points. George Russell came 4th although he was in a very good position to win 3rd but got overtaken by Lando Norris teammate of Oscar Piastri. The sprint race had only 15 finishers as five of the drivers were forced to retire.
Formula one:
Formula One is a motor racing sport where 20 players compete against each other for a World Drivers Championship, it has 10 constructors competing against each other for the constructor’s championship Title, each team has 2 players, the top constructors in the current season are Redbull, Mercedes, and McLaren. In 2023, season there are 24 races, including 3 practice sessions, 3 qualifying sessions, and a main race. 2 practice sessions take place on Friday, 1 on Saturday, and 3 qualifying on Saturday and only main race on Sunday.
Max Verstappen in 2023 season:
The 2023 Championship has been the least exciting championship as most of the races have been won by Max and it was very evident from the start that he’d win the World Championship and that too dominate, he has dominated the whole season and won the championship with 6 races still reaming.
Formula One, 2023 season:
Having a very terrible start in the 2023 season McLaren has come back stronger with having 5 podium finishes more than Ferrari, a very least is expected from Ferrari. However, they won a race this season making them the only constructors other than Redbull to win a race but they lack consistency. Mercedes being the other constructor which is in second place in the Championship first obviously Red Bull which Max drives for.
Sergio Perez is standing second in the Championship followed by Lewis Hamilton, the 7-time World Champion, who drives for Mercedes. 37-year-old has shown good performance this year irrespective of the car being not that good. Oscar Paistri the Australian rookie has also performed phenomenally through the season, struggling a bit in the beginning but has performed well after the upgrades.
The last 6 races might bring a new winner or the same one but the fans are hoping for more exciting races like yesterday’s sprint race or like the Singapore GP, Qatar GP, the sprint in which Max Claimed his 3rd Championship, the main race will be held on 8th October 2023 10:30 IST.
