Who is Sheynnis Palacios?

Sheynnis Palacios is a 23-year-old model and TV host. A few hours prior to the grand finale, Ms. Palacios posted a touching message on Instagram about achieving a childhood ambition by competing in the international competition. A woman wrote in Spanish, “I dedicate this to my inner child tonight. This is also for all the girls who yearn to fulfill their dream. The sky is the limit; dream so big that people think it is impossible to achieve. And that is where you will understand that your dreams and goals will overcome obstacles. Always remember that you should accompany your dreams with full determination and perseverance and always be passionate”.

The 23-year-old beauty is a seasoned pageant competitor who was raised in the nation’s capital city. She also won the Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016 and Miss World Nicaragua 2020 pageants. She had been in the Top 40 of Miss World 2021 as well.

Sheynnis was an enthusiastic learner who played varsity volleyball and studied mass communications at the Central American University in Managua, also known as Universidad Centroamericana.

Palacios defeated contestants from eighty-three other nations, including Miss India Shweta Sharda, who made it into the top 20. Sharda received congratulations from Miss Diva’s official Instagram account on her pageant campaign.

Fierce competition among 90 contestants

The 2023 Miss Universe is crowned as Miss Nicaragua. Following a fierce competition among 90 national contestants, Miss Nicaragua was crowned the 72nd Miss Universe. Together with her, Miss Thailand and Miss Australia advanced to the final round of the beauty pageant. Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel handed the priceless crown to her heir, beaming with pride and joy.

Final question to the contestants

The question “If you could live one year in another woman’s shoes, who would you choose and why” was the last one posed to Miss Universe 2023 contestants. Malala Yousafzai was Miss Thailand’s response, while Miss Australia honored her mother by stating that she would like to fill her shoes. She claimed that she is greatly inspired by her struggles and successes. Miss Nicaragua gave the most unique and surprising response, though. She brought up the name of Mary Wollstonecraft, the pioneer of feminism and a champion of women’s rights.
