Mithun Chakraborty suffers Brain Stroke: Health update

Legend Actor Mithun Chakraborty was diagnosed with an Ischemic stroke or Brain stroke on Saturday, 10th February 2024. He was currently working on a Bengali film named ‘Shastri’ in Kolkata. He was taken to hospital the Apollo Hospital in Kolkata, after he complained about chest pain, feeling uneasy, and weakness in his right upper and lower limbs.

Health Update

The hospital gave an official statement regarding actor Mithun Chakraborty’s health, they stated that he was diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident also commonly known as Brain Stroke. Presently, he is fully conscious and can consume a soft diet. Currently, the treatment is ongoing, and a team of doctors including neuro-physician, cardiologist, and gastroenterologist is taking special care of him.

Mithun’s co-actor Debashree Roy from their current film ‘Shastri’ said, that she went to meet him at the hospital and said he is ‘better now.’ The actress said that Mithun’s sugar levels went down and he was feeling ‘quite uneasy’.

She further said, he was out of the ICU and they were supposed to shoot for the next schedule of ‘Shastri’ from February 23. But then she had no idea whether he would resume on the February 23 or later. It will depend on what the doctors advise.

Mithun Chakraborty’s Career

The 73-year-old actor Mithun Chakraborty made his first debut in 1977 with ‘Mrigaya’ and got the National Film Award for Best Actor. The actor has done over 350 films till now and worked in movies in multiple languages such as Hindi and Bengali. He is best known for the blockbuster hit ‘Disco Dancer’ in 1982.

The actor was honored with various prestigious awards like the Filmfare Awards, Awards of the International Indian Film Academy, Zee Cine Awards, National Film Awards, India, Apsara Film Producers Guild Awards, South Indian International Movie Awards, People’s Choice Awards India, Dainik Bhaskar Bollywood Web Awards etc. He was announced recently in January for the Padma Bhushan Award., which is the third highest civilian honor by the government of India. The actor is highly appreciated for his lifetime work not only in India but also internationally.
