Official Statement from the Movie Moana 2

Walt Disney initially intended to make the Moana followup into an animated television series. However, after observing the success of the first Moana on Disney Hotstar, Iger and Disney Entertainment co-chair Alan Bergman decided to turn it into a movie. Currently on Netflix Moana can be said to be a popular animated 2016 movie. It was the most streamed movie in the United States in 2023, according to Nielsen (it came in fourth in 2022, second in 2021, and third in 2020).

Iger declared, “We’re excited about showing you an additional instalment of Moana and Maui’s adventures when ‘Moana 2’ hits cinemas this November.'”

“The 2016, original Moana film became the most frequently watched film of the year 2023 on every platform in the United States when it reportedly surpassed one billion hours of viewing on Disney+ Hotstar.

Moana continues to be a hugely successful series, which is why we are excited to share with you an additional instalment of Moana and Maui when Moana 2 hits cinemas in November, Iger said on Wednesday’s conference call. A real-life adaptation of the original movie is also presently in progress.

About the story of Moana

Moana and Maui are shown among various individuals on a ship next to a whale shark, a scene that nicely sets up the announcement’s initial glimpse photo. There may be a theory that the whale shark represents some of Moana’s ancestral relatives, possibly bearing resemblance to her deceased grandmother, who showed as a manta ray.

Walt Disney’s strategy of turning its vast collection of animated features into live-action  has been incredibly popular both in cinemas and on the company’s Disney Plus video streaming. Walt Disney has produced numerous animated musical fantasy films, Moana being only one of them.
