Kartik Aaryan is back again on the silver screen with a biographical sports drama, lets dive in further and take a look at the movie.


Introduction

The story about an un-sung hero, the story about the person who is not remembered, The story about the person who served our nation in the battles, the story about the person who was the first one from India to win a gold medal at the Paralympics in the year 1972, Chandu Champion is not just a film but a heartfelt tribute to the unacknowledged champion of India.

Chandu Champion is a tale of the champion that has been long forgotten, Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympics gold medalist. This is a life story of a person who went through all the hardships to represent his nation at the international level.


The film starts with Petkar at the police station who came to file a complaint against the President Of India for not awarding him with the Arjuna Award for his achievements and contributions adding it will help the village in the development. The police who is suspicious at first is seen drawn towards him when he starts the tale of his life, the ups and downs he has faced and his accomplishments.


The story shifts between past and present and tells us about how a child who has always harboured a dream of winning Olympics for his country however he was always bullied by his friends and has no support from his family, he also ran away from his house and enrolled himself in the army battalion. He started as the boxer and eventually represents India in the International Service sports meet though he loses in the final round because of lack of concentration.


He was also a part of the Indo-Pak war where he was shot which left him paralysed by which he loses all the hopes to ever win Olympics, devastated by the twist and turns of his life and his only dream being shattered he tries to commit suicide after that his coach motivates him to join the Paralympics and trains him hard for the same.


He qualifies for the 50m freestyle swimming and ultimately wins the 1972 Summer Paralympics held in Heidelberg, Germany emerging as the first Paralympics champion from India.

The story differs from the other sports drama because the person has only one dream that is to win Olympics so he tried every possible sport from swimming to boxing and even wrestling.
He was awarded the Padma Shri for his contributions and achievements because the officials thought that Arjuna Award would do no justice to his accomplishments.


Review of the movie

The Kabir Khan directed film does not fail to leave an impact on he audience, with the amazing cinematography and cut to cut shots he keeps the audience hooked to the very end. The story telling was a good blend of the emotional depth visually appealing graphics.

Kartik Aaryan delivers his career’s best performance, he bought life the character with the authenticity of his emotions. He was just incredible in the movie. Vijay Raaz and Rajpal Yadav never fail to make us believe that they are indeed the finest of the entertainers of the industry
The film received positive reviews from the audience and the critic but as a sports biopic the song of the movie could have been much more motivating full of enthusiasm.


The film collected 4.75 crores on the opening day, after six days the film has collected 32.75 crores so far.
