A new murder mystery starring Sanjay Kapoor which was made to keep the audience hooked with the thrill and anticipation on what is next, fails with bad direction, bland writing and static characterization
Introduction
House of Lies is a Hindi film industry mystery and crime movie, directed by Saumitra Singh starring Sanjay Kapoor, Rituraj Singh, Smiley Suri, Ajitesh Gupta, Hiten Paintal and Simran Suri released on 31st May, 2024 on OTT platform Zee5.

The story revolves around finding out the death of Albert Pinto, which is claimed as “natural death” by his family and friends but the officers knows better that there is more to it. Albert Pinto died just after his birthday party in Goa. Special investigating officer, Rajveer Chaudhary (Sanjay Kapoor) along with local sub-inspector Abhay (Hiten Paintal) were soon seen arriving at the location. Along with them a special Enforcement Directorate officer, Sashi (Simran Suri) was seen joining them soon after. The story went ahead with them embarking on this journey questioning the people who arrived at the party, the family and friends of Pinto carefully and diligently, sparing no pains.

Rituraj with limited screen time delivers his performance with ease proving himself as one of the best artist, again but his character remained indefinite and unclear , provided he was the focal point of the movie. Though the other characters in the movie fail to do justice to the character assigned to them, Sanjay and Hiten, as demanded by the character failed to portray themselves as determined, composed and responsive police officers, managing to give an average performance. Simar Suri, however tried to give in to the character but failed because of the lack of spark in the performance from her counterparts. All the other supporting character, Pinto’s wife (Smiley Suri), his man (Ajitesh Gupta) failed to make an impression because of no character development. With bad direction and no depth of the characters, the cast failed to make an emotional connect with the audience, thus hampering the movie in general.
Direction, Writing and overall execution of the movie
First and foremost, the name of the movie sends a major set back to the audience as confusion because of an already existing American comedy-drama series named House Of Lies, the audience pointed out lack of authenticity by the team. Abhiraj Sharma failed to write a good murder mystery which keeps the audience hooked throughout because of lack of character development and bland setting which makes it boring. Moreover, the dialogues in the movie were very cringy at times, with bad sound affect added to the overall failure to deliver the murder mystery. The film received negative reviews as it fails to gather the attention of the viewers. Because of the foreseeable story and bad implementation of the film by the team led to be No Watch movie. It turns out be a utter disappointment to all the crime, murder movie fans
