Human finger found in ice cream in Mumbai: A 26-year-old doctor from Malad West said that he managed to locate a part of the human finger in an ice cream cone.

Human finger found in ice cream in Mumbai: Going by what seems to be a twist in the Mumbai ice cream case, the police has said that a worker at the Pune factory of Yummo ice cream was involved in an accident that hurt his finger, NDTV said.

The police probe into the case, where a 26-year-old doctor from Malad West claimed he found a human finger in an ice cream cone recently, did not find that the ice cream was made on the day of the tragedy but was packed on the said day, NDTV quoted the police sources as saying. The police have also taken samples for DNA tests and a confirmation that the finger belongs to the staffer will only be known once report has been processed.

Brendon Ferrao (26) a doctor from Mumbai, said that he was shocked to find human flesh; it seems to be a thumb in the Halo Flavours frozen dessert ordered online. The incident occurred in the afternoon of June 12 and after that the man called the police and registered a complaint, the police added.

In his complaint, Brendon Ferrao said he bought a butterscotch ice cream cone from Yummo company through an e-commerce application. He had segregated the remains after the lunch and was when he was eating ice cream, he found a chunk of meat threaded with a nail, said a police official.

The man, who is pursuing his post-graduate studies, decided to bring the issue to the company of ice cream by leaving a complaint in its IG account. But since there was no proper response from the firm, the complainant dropped the piece of flesh in an ice bag and went to the Malad police station and lodged a complaint, opined the official. .Therefore, the police lodged a case under sections 272, 273, and 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the officials of Yummo ice cream company based on his compliant, he mentioned.”

According to FSSAI, the licence of the ice cream manufacturer has been suspended after a team of the FSSAI’s Western Region Office conducted a raid on the premises of the ice cream manufacturer and spoke to news agency ANI.

FSSAI also said that the ice cream manufacturer who supplied the said ice cream is situated in Indapur, Pune and has a central licence also.
