National Conference- Congress all set to form government

The National Conference- Congress alliance is all set to create its new government in Jammu and Kashmir as it has been viewed that the combine has got over the halfway mark and has taken a lead of 51 of the 90 assembly constituencies.

This is gonna be the first elected government after 2018, it was when governor’s rule was applied in J&K after the BJP took back its support from then chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. This will also be the first elected government after the abrogation of Article 370 and delimitation of seats in J&K.

The latest Election Commision of India (ECI) stats shows that the NC is in a lead in 43 constituencies, Congress stands in eight, BJP IN 26,PDP in two, Peoples Conference stands in two and Independent Candidates in seven.

Omar is on its way for a smooth win

Former chief minister Omar Abdullah has received a smooth lead from both the assembly constituencies from which he contested. From Ganderbal, he stands in a lead by 5,958 votes and Budgam by 8,612 votes.

Omar went on X and wrote that he has been watching the results unfold on @deKoderdigital sitting quietly in the lawn. He questions that elections have always been with @PrannoyRoy7749 & his calm, noise- free analysis, so why should this one be any different.

Omar Abdullah is concentrating on planning a press conference later in the afternoon.

The Congress holds a lead in eight constituencies, also including five in Kashmir. J&K unit president Tariq Hameed Karra takes a strong lead from Central Shalteng and stands in a lead by 10,263 votes.

Karra stated that this is a winning moment for the people and a verdict against contentious policies and hate politics.

The Mehbooba Mufti- led PDP, however couldn’t show a very impressive show and took a lead on only two seats. In the 2014 elections, the PDP with 28 seats was seen to emerge as the single largest party.

Defeat admitted by PDP’s Iltija Mufti

On Tuesday PDP leader Iltija Mufti conceded its defeat as she was trailing in Srigufwara- Bijbehara by 4,334 votes as the counting in six of the 12 rounds was completed.

Iltija, who is the daughter of Mehbooba Mufti, went on X and wrote that she accepts the decision of the people. She expressed her gratitude to the people that the love and affection she received from everyone in Bijbehara will alway stay with her. She expressed her gratitude to PDP workers who have been working so hard throughout this campaign.

Bashir Ahmad Veeri who is the candidate of National Conference has taken a lead in the counting in the constituency with 17,615 votes.

BJP reserves its hold in Jammu region

The BJP has showed an impressive performance in the Jammu region and has taken a lead in 26 constituencies. However, the BJP has once again failed to put an impressive show in Kashmir, where it had contested 19 seats. All the leads for the party belong to 10 districts of Jammu region.

Ravinder Raina who is the BJP state president was trailing with more than 10,493 votes from Nowshera, where NC candidate Surinder Kumar Choudhary polled 30,883 votes.

Altaf Bukhari, the Apni Party president was in the lead with 4,848 votes. The party so far has failed to take a lead from a single of the 65 seats it contested in J&K.

Six Independent candidates are also taking the lead from different seats.

The BJP was hoping that its allies would show  an impressive performance in Kashmir, however, most of them have just failed to make  a mark.

Sources stated that Congress and NC leadership would have a meeting in Srinagar in the evening to venture claims to form the new government.
