Navratri Festival’ s celeberation to begin from today full of prayers,music, traditional dance and fasting
From Today Navratras will begin, the festival of Goddess Durga, the supreme Goddess. It is one of the most auspicious and important festival of India, it is celeberated over nine nights, Along with traditional dances like garba, dandia, music and prayers celeberation also includes fasting in which devotees worship Maa Durga and do fasting as a spiritual practice during the nine days of navratri festival, during the festival devotees eat a sattvic meal and abstain from eating onion and garlic.
They eat fresh fruits, vegetables, curd, nuts, dairy products and sabudana in their meals.
Regular table salt is avoided during the festival instead rock salt also known as sendha namak is used in the food.
Since fasting can lead to dehydration one should drink water, leamonade, herbal teas to stay healthy and hydrated.
It is a traditional practice to avoid eating grains, pulses and rice during the fast buckwheat atta, sabudana, water chestnut flour, rajgira ka atta are eaten.
