Indian veteran athlete Neeraj Chopra flew directly to the finals with a monster throw of 89.34 m in the qualifiers. The player was seen in action in group B with other veteran players like Max Dehning of Germany, Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, Marcin Krukowski of Poland, Anderson Peters Grenadian player and Edis Matusevicius of Lithuania.
Earlier, Kishore Jane was seen competing in group A qualifications. His debut throw in the Olympics 2024 was marked 80.73 m which is also his season best so far. Being disappointed by his second throw, Kishore deliberately crosses the line of penalty, nullifying his throw. In his third attempt, the throw marked 80.21 m hence fell short of reaching the qualifying mark of 84 m. Although he balanced his body perfectly and resisted himself to cross the white line, he couldn’t reach the minimum qualifying mark. Undersatisfied with his throw below 80 m in the second round, Kishore deliberately steps out of the white line that rendered his throw invalid. Kishore still have chance to join Neeraj and battle in finals, although he crashed his first chance.

“The throw was good”, said Neeraj. He proceeded, “Maybe the highest ever in qualifying for me. All the throwers seem to be in good shape.
