Universal Pictures has officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated Jurassic World sequel!
In a surprise Instagram post, the film’s official handle shared a black and white poster of the film’s logo and announced its July 2, 2025 release date. Filmmaker David Leitch is reportedly in talks to direct the upcoming film, which would be a significant addition to the renowned franchise.
What are the jurassic movies
The Jurassic Park franchise revolves around genetically engineered dinosaurs roaming an island theme park in Costa Rica. Dinosaurs are cloned by extracting ancient DNA from mosquitos that sucked dinosaur blood and then fossilized in amber, preserving the DNA. Scientists then use frog DNA to fill in gaps in the genome. Although the films are primarily set on fictional islands off the Pacific coast of Central America, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) relocates the dinosaurs around the world, including the United States mainland.
The film series is notable for its recreation of dinosaurs, which is accomplished primarily through animatronics and computer generated imagery. The first film was praised for its dinosaur effects and sparked increased interest in paleontology, while also changing public perception of dinosaurs through its modern portrayal.Palaeontologists criticized later films for largely ignoring recent paleontological findings in order to maintain continuity with previous installments.
To better reflect modern discoveries, Jurassic World Dominion (2022) expanded on Jurassic Park III’s feathered dinosaur concept.
How Jurassic became “Big thing”
It grossed more money in its opening weekend than any other film in history. After nine days, it had surpassed the $100 million milestone. And, very soon, it will almost certainly take the title of Biggest Grosser Of All Time from that other little Steven Spielberg film, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. Rufus Sears joins the director, his cast, and his incredibly lifelike dinosaurs on the set of Jurassic Park…
Expectations from the Jurassic
David Koepp, a renowned screenwriter known for writing Steven Spielberg’s original blockbuster ‘Jurassic Park’ in 1993 and its 1997 sequel ‘Jurassic Park: The Lost World’, has been hired to write the film. While it is said to be a sequel to the 2022 blockbuster ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, this new instalment is set to begin a new storyline, ushering in a new chapter in the three-decade-old franchise. According to reports, the upcoming film will usher in a “new Jurassic era,” implying a storyline unlike any seen before.
According to rumors, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters may not return for the next installment. Similarly, characters played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum from the original ‘Jurassic Park’ who made cameo appearances in the previous film are unlikely to return in this fourth installment.
