Operation Ajay is an ongoing operation conducted by the Indian Armed Forces to evacuate Indian citizens from Israel due to the Israel-Hamas war which is currently taking place. According to the reports, there are more than 20,000 Indians residing in Israel. Luckily, none has been reported to be injured, missing, or killed after the gruesome attack on Israel by the Palestinian militant group, Hamas.
The operation was launched with the objective of retrieving the Indian citizens who wish to come back to India from Israel after the recent attacks that Israel has faced from Hamas.
To make this operation a success, various arrangements which include charter flights are being put in place, this information was provided by the External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar in a social media post. He also said that the Government is fully prepared and committed to the safety and well-being of the Indian citizens in Israel.
The Indian Embassy in Israel has reported that they are working constantly to help and ease the pain of their fellow citizens in Israel by providing a 24-hour helpline.
A control room has also been set up by the Ministry of External Affairs which is active 24/7 to monitor the situation and provide any form of assistance and information that they can.
India has also set up a 24-hour Control Room in the capital of India, New Delhi to monitor the situation and provide information and assistance about the ongoing developments in Israel and Palestine. Operation Ajay: The First Flight
The first flight of Operation Ajay succeeded in retrieving 212 Indian Nationals from Israel and landed in Delhi on Friday. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the Indian Government refuses to leave any Indian behind at any cost. The Indian government, the Prime Minister is determined to protect the Indian Nationals and bring them back safely. We are grateful for bringing our children back home safely and soundly and back home to their loved ones.
One of the Indian nationals who returned from Israel has said that this is the first time they are facing such a situation over there (Israel). They are thankful to the Indian government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for bringing them back. They are hoping for peace as soon as possible so that they can go back to work in Israel as soon as possible.
Nepal Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud said that a total of 557 Nepali citizens have registered themselves, out of which 503 wanted to return back to Nepal and a total of 254 students have been evacuated in the first phase of evacuation.
