The government’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Kiren Rijiju, talked about the appointment issue. He said that he had spoken with DMK Parliamentary Party leader TR Baalu and everyone has agreed that choosing a pro tem Speaker has never been a problem before in Indian Parliament history. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh responded to the minister to show them through their actions, not just words. He added that practice should be done of what is preached.
The lawmakers from the INDIA group plan to hold a minor protest near Gate No. 2 of the old Parliament building. They will be standing where Mahatma Gandhi’s statue used to be before it was moved to a new place called Prerna Sthal.
