On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir has inaugurated several development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore. The projects were related to the sectors of health education, rail, aviation, civic infrastructure, and road. The Prime Minister’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir yesterday was considered strategic and important before the Lok Sabha 2024 elections. His rally in Jammu is formally seen as the kick-start of the Bhartiya Janta party’s election campaign for Lok Sabha 2024. The prime minister has inaugurated AIIMS Jammu. and also laid the foundation for the new terminal at Jammu Airport.

Prime Minister’s Address
During his speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we will develop a viksit Jammu and Kashmir by ensuring facilities for the poor, improving the lives of farmers, employing youths, and through women’s empowerment.
He said, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas’ is his mantra for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, and the world is excited to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister also spoke on the abrogation of Article 370 and said it was the biggest hurdle in the way of the development of Jammu and Kashmir, but our government has removed this hurdle.
Now the common citizen of Jammu and Kashmir is receiving the assurance of social justice. PM Modi stressed the Modi Ki Guarantee and said I fulfilled the promise that i have made in 2014, and today we have IIT and IIM in Jammu. The PM slammed the Congress party for not implementing the one-rank-one pension (OROP).
He launched an attack on the previous governments of the state and center, and Said Jammu and Kashmir suffered due to the dynasty politics. He did not mention the name of any party, but his indication was towards Congress, the National Conference (NC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
While addressing the rally, the prime minister said he sees a major difference in the development of Jammu and Kashmir as compared to his previous visits. He emphasized the advancement of the education and skill development sectors.
New development projects in Jammu and Kashmir
The construction of the All-India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Vijaypur, Jammu, will provide the best quality of health care services and treatments to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In 2019, the prime minister laid the foundation stone for the AIIMS. It is established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
The foundation stone for several road development projects were laid down by the PM such as the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway connecting Jammu to Katra, Srinagar Ring Road, Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri stretch of NH-01, and the construction of Kul Gam bypass and Pulwama bypass on NH 444 will be connecting Qazigund-Kul Gam-Shopian-Pulwama-Badgam-Srinagar which will boost the road infrastructure in the region.
The Prime Minister dedicated new rail projects which will connect Banihal-Khari-Sangladan (48 km) and the newly electrified Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-Sangladan (186 km). You also flagged off the first electric train in the valley.
Interaction with the locals
Prime Minister Modi also interacted with the locals of Jammu Poonch Pulwama Bandipora, who are the beneficiaries of government schemes.
Mr. Lal Mohammed from Punch District has informed the Prime Minister that his house was made up of mud and was subjected to shelling from the other side of the border. He thanked the prime minister for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, from which he received the pakka house.
Riyaz Ahmed Koli of Pulwama had told the prime minister that he is a beneficiary of the Jal Jeevan Mission. every house in his village now has a water tap, which has brought a huge transformation in their lives.
Veena Devi from Kishtwar district told the Prime Minister that she is the beneficiary of the Ujjwala Yojana, which has made her life better and allows her to give more time to herself and her family.
