Prime Minister Narendra Modi met singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, calling him “a mixture of talent and tradition.”The meeting was “memorable” and involved discussions about music, culture, and the vibrancy of India, and included yoga.
After the meeting, Diljit Dosanjh expressed gratitude for “it being a fantastic” way to start the year.
He posted on X, “A fantastic start to 2025. A very memorable meeting with PM @narendramodi Ji. We talked about many things, including music, of course.”
PM Modi replied to Dosanjh, stating, “A very good interaction.” And he added, “It was a good interaction with Diljit Dosanjh. He is truly multi-faceted; talent and tradition, they blended! Music, culture, etc.! (sic)”
Earlier, during the meeting, PM Modi praised Diljit for his achievements: “It is a pleasure when a boy from a small village in Hindustan shines on the global stage. When your family named you Diljit, it seems you will continue to win the hearts of the people, just like your name suggests.”
Diljit replied, “We studied ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ (My India is great), but while travelling India, I thought I should understand why people say so.”
“India’s vastness is its strength,” said Pope Modi as he drew attention to India’s diversity, adding: “We are a valuable society.”
Diljit said, “The greatest magic in India is yoga.” The PM agreed when he stated, “The one who has tried yoga knows its strength.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi extended his good wishes and a prosperous year in advance, wishing for a bright 2025 on Wednesday.
In a post on X, PM Modi highlighted the year’s mantras, which include new possibilities, personal growth, and collective welfare perspectives.
“Happy New Year 2025! May this year avail everyone with new opportunities, success and boundless joy. May all be blessed with good health and prosperity,” PM Modi wrote on X.
