Prime Minister also responded to recent controversial statements by opposition leaders. An old video of Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar surfaced, in which Aiyar suggested that India should respect Pakistan because of its nuclear capabilities. Similarly, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah remarked that Pakistan, not being a weak nation, could retaliate with nuclear force. PM Modi used these statements to highlight what he called the weak stance of past governments. “Think back to those days when there was a Congress government and courageous mothers in Haryana would remain worried all the time about an explosion being triggered by terrorists or a stone thrown injuring our soldiers,” he said, contrasting it with the current period of relative peace and security.

PM Modi – Article 370 and Development in J&K

PM Modi highlighted the significant changes brought about by his government, particularly the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. It gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Indian constitution. What is more, according to Modi this move would lead to further development in Jammu and Kashmir after dismantling fictitious ‘Article 370’ says Modi”. Urging people listening to him from all walks of life in J&K to consider how unsafe and unsecure they were when they compared ten years ago with today under BJP Government but under Congress regime.

Criticism of Opposition Leaders

The Prime Minister did not forget to respond to opposition leaders’ recent controversial speech. An old video resurfaced of Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar where he suggested India should respect Pakistan on account of its nuclear power. Similarly, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah remarked that Pakistan is not a weak nation and could thus send back nuclear bomb. That’s why PM Modi, using these statements as his ammunition, brought out the weakness of previous governments.

Economic and Security Gains

Modi focused on the growth in economy and security that has taken place under his reign. He said that reliance by Pakistan on bailout packages from IMF reveals how weak the country has become. “Pakistan used to have bombs in its hands earlier, now it’s begging all over,” he said. According to him, this shift is due to India having a strong and assertive government.

Election Outlook and Party Confidence

Only 17 days remain for the Lok Sabha elections, and Prime Minister Modi has expressed confidence in his party’s victory. He said that through four rounds of voting, Congress and INDI alliance, with their friends had been weakened a lot. “The Congress and the INDI alliance are completely wiped out after 4 phases of elections,” he affirmed. The narrative also emphasized on how Haryana being aware of anti-national forces present in it shows that the state’s electorate is aware of what they need from a national government.

Article 370: “Buried in Kabristan”

Modi described Article 370’s abrogation as an important accomplishment in his speech stating that it has been buried in ‘kabristan’. This, according to him, is “A major obstacle towards Jammu and Kashmir’s development is abolished.” In Gohana rally on Monday, Modi called these ongoing Lok Sabha polls as ‘Kurukshetra’, putting forth two distinct alternatives of “vote jihad” or development.

The rally speech of PM Modi in Ambala has brought out his government’s achievements in national security and economic development. By using strong contrast between his administration’s strength and what he described as the weakness of the previous government, Modi has given a convincing argument for his second term. His negativity on Pakistan and opposition leaders is meant to consolidate the narrative of decisive and strong governance that has highly contributed to India’s security improvement internationally. What Modi wants is obvious as elections draw near – if one endorses his government, they want it to remain resilient as it moves ahead.
