PM MODI PRESENTED THE 1st NATIONAL CREATORS AWARDS

PM Narendra Modi on 8th March, presented India’s 1st National Creators Award at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi to digital and social content creators. It is inaugurated by the PM in lieu of the new booming profession of creators and to acknowledge and recognize the excellence of creators. The awards were given across 20 categories which included – The disruptor, best storyteller, celebrity creator, best creator for social change, green champion, most impactful agri creator, cultural ambassador, swachhta ambassador, best travel creator, new India champion, heritage fashion, most creative creator (male and female), tech creator, best creator in food category, best creator in education along with the international creator award.

The awardees included the podcaster who started as a health trainer, Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps for Disruptor of the Year ; Abhi and Niyu, a married duo who spreads awareness with more than five million YouTube subscribers; Keerthika Govindasamy for storytelling via her account Keerthi History and Pankhti Pandey, a sustainability influencer who was earlier an ISRO scientist as Green Champion. The other influencers who got awarded were – Shraddha (Aiyyo Shraddha) and Kamiya Jani of Curly Tales. Some awardees have had interviews and campaigning for the government like, Ms. Jani has interviewed Union Ministers like Nitin Gadkari and Anurag Thakur, while Ranveer Allahbadia has interviewed Nitin Gadkari and S. Jaishankar.

PM Narendra Modi has highlighted that the potential of these creators can boost India’s branding domain to new heights at international levels. After presenting the awards, he emphasised on spreading awareness about the power of creativity and gave examples of visualizing excavated artifacts that can help people go back to the old era. He also wished women on International Women’s Day and empowered the creators to inculcate the ideas of ‘nari shakti’ in their content while also urging them to start a ‘Create on India Movement’ where they share stories on well preserved rich heritage of the composite Indian culture.

Other influencers felicitated at the awards were a few known names like Jaya Kishori, who shares religious stories ; ‘Agri Creator’ Lakshya Dabas; Maithili Thakur; and three international creators.

Technical GuruJi or Gaurav Chaudhary, technology YouTuber received the Tech Creator Award. Aman Gupta, celebrity of Shark Tank, founder and CEO of boAT won the Celebrity Creator Award. While presenting awards to these changemakers, Mr. Modi also told how significant it is to create good content that helps the country’s progress as well. “We must engage the global audience for it,” he added. 

While stressing on startups and “Make In India” campaigns he also mentioned how creativity can even correct wrong perceptions. While awarding Malhar Kalambe with the Swachhta Ambassador Award Modi while taking a dig at the opposition parties said, “Har prakaar ki safai mein kaam aa sakta hai, iss chunaav mein bhi safai hone wali hai” implying that the Modi government is yet again going to swipe the opposition off their feet. While concluding, he urged content creators to raise awareness against drug consumption among youth. “Your content creation is making a huge impact in the country.”
