Ashwini vaishnaw after Centre cancels UPSC advertisement
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision as a testament to his commitment to Babasaheb’s Constitution and principles of social justice.
Minister Vaishnaw said, “Today, Prime Minister Modi has reflected his commitment to the Constitution of Babasaheb through a historic decision to implement the principles of reservation in the transparent method of lateral entry in the UPSC. The Prime Minister he has always shown his commitment to social justice”. He criticized the previous UPA government for not considering the principles of reservation.

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi responded caustically to the government’s turn. Modi 3.0 and said that the opposition led by the grand old party will continue to oppose “conspiracy like the side entry of the BJP”. MP Raebari also reiterated that they would continue to fight for social justice based on ‘caste registration’. “We will protect the Constitution and the reservation system at all costs. We will counter conspiracies like BJP’s ‘side entry’ at all costs,” he wrote in X, hours after the Centre’s decision.
Reacting to the development, Congress leader Kharge said, “Long live the Constitution! The Congress Party’s struggle for social justice for our dalits, tribals, backward and weaker sections has thwarted BJP’s plans of destroy the reservations. He said it was because of the campaign led by Rahul Gandhi, the Congress and the INDIA bloc parties that the government changed course.

Congress leader Supriya Srinate said the cancellation of the recent notification of lateral entry into the bureaucracy is a “victory” of the Indian Constitution and added that it was possible because of the opposition led by Rahul Gandhi, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav said meanwhile. that “the plot to get appointments through the back door of lateral entry into UPSC, by refusing reservations was finally handed over to the PDA unit” of “faces against BJP reserve”.
