Indian cinema on his 100th birth anniversary.

Dev Anand, born on 26 September 1923, is a successful Bollywood actor known for his
roles in films like Guide, Taxi Driver, Jewel Thief, and CID. He also worked as a writer,
director, and producer known for his work in hindi cinema.

DEV ANAND AND HIS LEGACY

Dev (born Dharamdev Pishorimal Anand; born on 26 September 1923, Anand was an Indian
actor, writer, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. Anand is considered
as one of the greatest and most beloved, charismatic and accomplished actors in the history
of Indian cinema. Anand is a recipient of four Filmfare Awards, including two for Best Actor.
The Government of India honored him with Padma Bhushan, Indian third highest civilian
honour in 2001 and with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002.
He is known for his fast dialogue delivery and unique nodding style which became
trademarks of his acting in movies His movies explored cultural viewpoints of the world
and highlighted many socially relevand topics. The actor was among the most popular
stars of his time. The actor created history by playing roles in most amazing films. He was a
renowned actor, writer, director, and producer known for his roles in Hindi cinema,
including smuggler, absconding gang member, black marketeer, and murderer.The Film
Heritage Foundation (FHF) will host a retrospective of Dev Anand’s films, known as the
“Evergreen Hero” of Indian and Hindi cinema.
Anand has also recieved Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award recipient,
the great legendary actor passed away at the age of 88 at The Washington Mayfair Hotel
in London.
