PM Modi has recently talked to the CM of Uttarakhand to know about the situation of the tunnel collapse.
PM Modi had a telephonic conversation with CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday morning to discuss the tunnel collapse incident that took place on 12 November 2023 in Uttarakhand. PM Modi assured people that all the necessary equipment and rescue services will be provided by the central government to ensure a more speedy and successful rescue mission.

PM Modi discussed about the tunnel collapse incident
The CMO informed the media that PM Modi had a telephonic conversation with the CM and he sought information about the developments in the ongoing rescue operation. The PM further discussed the conditions of the workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi. He further assured the state government regarding the necessary help from the central government in the rescue operation.
PM Modi mentioned that with the collective and coordinated work of both the central government and the state government, workers will be evacuated safely. He further boosted the morale of the administration and people and said that at this moment it is important to motivate the trapped workers to not give up and to keep their morale high in this difficult situation.
This is for the third time that PM Modi had talked to CM Pushkar Singh Dhami about the incident of the tunnel collapse. CM Dhami had provided all the necessary details and the developments in the rescue operation to the PM. He further informed PM Modi that the trapped workers are safe and have been provided with timely supplies of oxygen, food items, water and medicinal aids through pipes. He informed the PM that the experts are being consulted for the rescue operation. Dhami briefly informed that all the rescue teams and the concerned agencies are coordinating to work to safely rescue the trapped workers.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s check over the rescue operation
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has constantly kept a check on the whole incident and he had visited the site of the incident several times. He states that all the concerned organisations are working progressively to protect and rescue the trapped workers safely. He further assured that all the medical items are being delivered to the site and the team from the PM office is also keeping a close eye on the whole situation.
Experts from Norway and Thailand are being consulted and US technology based Auger drilling machines are provided to facilitate the ongoing rescue operation.

News reports informed that since the day this incident took place on 12 November, at least 40 labourers are being trapped under the debris till now.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari while talking to media said that the safe and timely rescue of the 40 trapped workers is the biggest priority of the government at this moment and all the efforts should be provided to carry out the safe rescue operation at the earliest by keeping aside any politics from this issue.
Health experts have suggested that workers need to be evacuated at the earliest because being trapped in a particular and closed space might lead to various kinds of health implications in the workers. The administration, organisations and concerned agencies should work more dedicatedly to carry out this rescue operation of the trapped workers.
Technical committee has also been formed by the state government to inquire about the possible cause of the incident.
