Making India a developed nation by 2047 is the aim of NITI Aayog’s 9th Governing Council meeting, which will be headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 27. This information was released in a statement on Friday.

The summit aims to strengthen the methods by which government interventions are delivered, improving the quality of life for both rural and urban inhabitants through the promotion of participative governance and collaboration between the Centre and state governments.

A further topic of discussion at the meeting will be the suggestions made during the Third National Conference of Chief Secretaries in December of last year.

Recommendations were made on five major themes during the conference: healthcare: accessibility, affordability, and quality of care; drinking water: quantity, quality, and access; electricity: quality, efficiency, and reliability; education: accessibility and quality; and land and property: accessibility, digitisation, registration, and mutation.

Special sessions were also held to discuss subjects that were discussed at the National Conference of Chief Secretaries, such as the role of states, the aspirational districts and blocks program, cyber security, and artificial intelligence in governance.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who stated that she believed their concerns should be heard on a common platform, is expected to attend the meeting.

A visionary document has been created to help India become a USD 30 trillion developed economy by 2047, when it will mark its 100th anniversary of independence.

The vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047 was formulated by NITI Aayog in 2023, following its task to integrate the ten sectoral thematic ideas. It covers a broad spectrum of development-related topics, including social advancement, environmental sustainability, economic success, and good governance.

The meeting will be joined by chief ministers and lieutenant governors of states and union territories, union ministers as ex-officio members, the vice chairman and NITI Aayog members under the chairmanship of Prime minister.
