PM Modi to Launch Various Projects Related to Health Sector

Various projects related to the health sector are going to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. In a major boost to the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) scheme an addition is being made.

The addition made is that the expansion of the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY will be made for the elderly citizens who are 70 years of age and above. The expansion of health care coverage will be provided to all senior citizens regardless of their income. The expansion of the scheme will be launched by the Prime Minister.

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme is one of the health care schemes of the government which gives health care cover of Rs.5 lakhs to families under the scheme for secondary and tertiary hospital treatment.

The scheme is now being rolled out for all senior citizens who are 70 years and above.

The Prime Minister will launch, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various healthcare projects worth around Rs.12,850 crore on the occasion of Dhanvantari jayanti and also ninth Ayurveda Day. The different projects related to health sector will be launched on October 29 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda, in New Delhi

In an effort towards digitalisation U-WIN portal will be launched.

The portal will help the vaccination process to be digitalised completely for women and infants.

Through the digitalisation process timely administration of vaccines will be ensured against 12 vaccines preventable diseases. The portal will be beneficial for pregnant women and children from birth up to 16 years having a registry of vaccination.

In a major step forward to use technology to improve service delivery. To enhance service delivery and to make health care easily accessible through the use of employing drone technology the Prime Minister will launch drone services at 11 Tertiary health care institutions.

The phase II of India’s first All India Institute of Ayurveda will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. This will include Panchakarma hospital, an Ayurvedic pharmacy, sports medicine unit, an auditorium with a capacity of 500 seats, start-ups incubation centre among other 

Three medical colleges will also be inaugurated in Madhya Pradesh in three places namely Mandsaur, Neemuch and Seoni, the official statement stated.

Under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) the foundation stone for 21 Critical care Blocks at Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Manipur, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu will be laid. Foundation stone for five nursing colleges in Madhya Pradesh will also be laid today as per the official statement. 

Many other projects will also be launched like initiatives involving strengthening of R&D and testing infrastructure to improve healthcare system. Inauguration of Central Drugs testing Laboratory in Odisha among other projects.

A nation wide campaign which will work towards raising health awareness among the citizens, “Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan” will also be launched by the Prime Minister. 

Climate resilient healthcare services are important and the adaptation of such services too. The official statement released said the Prime Minister will launch state specific action plan on climate change and human health for each states and union territory which will lay out adaptation strategies for developing climate resilient healthcare.
