PM to address first NDA rally in Andhra Pradesh

PM Narendra Modi will be sharing  the state  alongside Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief and popular actor Pawan Kalyan. The upcoming public rally at Boppudi village, near Chilakaluripet town in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district, slated for March 17, is poised to be a historic event, with Named “Prajagalam,” this rally signifies the initiation of NDA’s election campaign in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the simultaneous legislative assembly and Lok Sabha polls scheduled on May 13. 

This gathering holds immense significance as it marks the reunion of the three alliance partners – TDP, Janasena, and BJP – after a decade. The presence of Modi, Naidu, and Kalyan on the same election stage after a prolonged interval underscores the unity and strength of the NDA coalition in the state. 

The seat-sharing formula, meticulously deliberated during a marathon discussion at Naidu’s residence in Undavalli, underscores the collaborative spirit of the alliance. According to the agreement, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha and 10 assembly seats, while the TDP will vie for 17 parliamentary and 144 state seats. Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena, on the other hand, will field candidates for two Lok Sabha and 21 assembly seats. 

Naidu has already unveiled the names of 128 candidates for the assembly polls, with more announcements expected imminently. Similarly, Janasena has disclosed seven candidates so far, with Kalyan himself entering the electoral fray from the Pithapuram constituency. Meanwhile, the BJP is yet to reveal its list of contenders for the impending polls.

In a bid to galvanize support and bolster the electoral prospects of the alliance, BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde and senior leaders from TDP and Janasena convened a meeting in Guntur. They issued a fervent appeal to the electorate to converge in large numbers for the upcoming public meeting. Emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between the alliance and the promise of a prosperous future for Andhra Pradesh, they exuded confidence in the transformative potential of a double-engine government.

The convergence of top political leaders on a single platform not only underscores the strategic collaboration between the parties but also symbolizes a collective commitment to addressing the developmental aspirations of the state. In Kerala, Modi undertook a roadshow in Pallakad, in addition to his rally in Pathanamthitta on Friday. The Karnataka unit of the BJP has put forth proposals for Modi’s participation in upcoming events in Shimoga and Gulbarga. Similar requests have also been received from the party’s units in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The repeated emphasis on engagements in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana underscores the BJP’s concerted effort to strengthen its presence in the southern region. Modi’s extensive itinerary reflected the party’s determination to connect with voters across these states, recognizing their significance in shaping the electoral landscape.
