Loved for spreading the right message but Criticised for doing it the wrong way

Introduction

On 2nd February 2024, A Global Stunt was performed by the Famous Actress and Model, Poonam Pandey that has brought her to be in danger for falsifying her demise, with celebrities, doctors, and politicians criticizing her for distributing fake information to raise consciousness about cervical cancer. On Saturday, Maharashtra lawmaker Satyajeet Tambe urged that the Mumbai Police take measures towards Pandey for spreading false information about her death.

The shocking news of model and actress Pandey’s death due to cervical cancer moved everyone in the Indian film industry and beyond. 

Pandey concocted this stunt as a promotional ploy, as authorized by her team and her management. This story went against a lot of fans and supporters in India and on the international levels as well. More than half of the fans suggested that an FIR shall be filed against Pandey and her management for disseminating such news only for PR purposes. Such cheap PR is not at all allowed in our Indian film industry, which has great emotions, said the members of various industries.

FIR Against the Stunt

Maharashtra politician Satyajeet Tambe has requested that Mumbai’s police take action towards Pandey.

The inspector said that this act of awareness was just a shield for actually just getting the fandom and publicity. Who would possibly think of using cancer and portray it in such a manner. Though she intended to convey a different message, her method simply helped her gain the attention that she did not receive in a long time.

Recently on Twitter, The AICWA stated that Pandey’s actions has brought a different stringent vibe amongst the people who supprted her, but whatever it is, it should not have been done this way the authority stated.

Ashish criticised, calling her PR stunt unpleasant and rude.  Although many people have called on the government to take severe action against the notorious model-actress for disseminating fake information, YouTube personality Ashish Chanchlani recently took a subtle jab at her in his unique style.

The good side of the Global stunt in Film Industry – 

A lot of people on social media apps started appreciating her by actually pointing out the necessity of being educated and bringing in light the recent trending topic of the Google search engine. The search was mainly about what the cancer is and the early symptoms are. Though her way of influencing was wrong for a few, she did the best work anyone could have done in 48 hours, more than anyone who could not do it in the past 43 years. This could be the new face of our Film Industry.

Who is the 32-year-old actress Poonam Pandey?

Following the first news, fans and media outlets wrote obituaries, and her the Wikipedia page was changed to reflect her supposed death.

However, several instagrammers raised suspicion after seeing a recent video of Poonam Pandey onboard a boat in Goa, appearing to be in excellent condition. She was absolutely stunning in her attire and did not appear dull or ill or affected by cancer, commented a few instagrammers on her recent post. 

On Saturday, Pandey, admitted to her 1.3 million Instagram fans in another video that her death was fake.

She claimed to be proud of achieving what she wanted, to spread awareness of cancer through the corners of the world, specifically cervical cancer as it is widely spread due to lack of awareness and precautions. She was delighted that every user, 1.3 Million individuals, is now aware of the cancer and will keep in mind the effect of it on women. The world criticised her for being innovative for something this crucial in today’s era.
