From Disney movies to popular sitcoms and shows, everything that garners a cult following and is loved across many is bound to become a classic over time. And classics are only ever replicated and re-enacted time and time again regardless of evolving generations.

Below are some of such originals TV shows and movies that are currently under production for some reboots and revivals that you should highly anticipate.

According to the chairman and CEO Casey Bloys of HBO & Max Content, “This Max Original Series will dive deep into all seven of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all these years” assuring the fans of its faithful adaptation in nature.

According to Bloys, the series would run for a consecutive 10 years while making sure that the uttermost care and craft of the franchise is taken by the company as it embarks on this new journey in opposition what was originally reported by Bloomberg as an assertion of 1 season/ 1 book.

Production

According to Deadline writer of Succession; Francesca Gardiner who was a consulting producer for Season 3 and Season 4 of HBO’s succession is amongst one of the final creatives for the show. She has also worked as a writer for Amazon’s The Man In The Castle and Starz’s The Rook.

Some other names of creatives working on this show include Kathleen Jordan who created the Netflix series Teenage Bounty Hunters, and the British writer Tom Moran who created the Amazon series The Devil’s Horn.

It is also to be believed that J.K. Rowling herself has been involved in the pitching process and the group of writers were commissioned by Max itself to come up with a pitching fitting best for the series.

Expected Date

According to Warner Bros, Discovery CEO David Zaslav the series is expected to be premiere in 2026 as he enthusiastically pointed out the need for more Hogwarts-centric shows explicitly at the Goldman Sachs Conference 2023.

The stage show version of the books titled Harry Potter and The Cursed Child also being a real crowd pleaser in 2022 worked as a testimony to his aforementioned statement.

Twilight (Animated Series)- Currently under production

With this news the Twilight fans can rejoice as the iconic mid 2010’s film series is being adapted into an animated series by Lionsgate Production.

The series is said to be based upon the original four series of the same name by author Stephanie Mayor.

The Twilight films that were also a franchise adaptation of the books were massive hits up until the release of its final sequel in 2015. The film starred Kristen Stewart as the protagonist Bella Swan as well as Robert Pattingson as the deuteragonist Edward the vampire.

Production

According to the vice chairman of Lionsgate, Michael Burns as shared during a Q&A at the Morgan Stanley media conference on Tuesday, 5th March, they were going to go “all out” with the animated franchise.

Expected Date

No official release dates have been mentioned of yet as the series was said to be in its early development April of last year, Variety reported.

Phineas and Ferb- Currently under production

The beloved Disney cartoon series, the first season of which premiered sixteen years ago is back again in production! It was revealed over a year ago that the show was picked back up for two more seasons on Disney Channel. And earlier this year on the show’s 16th anniversary, voice actor Alyson Stoner took to Instagram to confirm and update about their role of character Isabella Garcia-Shapiro.

Production

Other than Alyson, co-stars Vincent Martella and Ashley Tisdale join the show’s cast. Creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh also join to reprise their respective roles as well.

Expected Date

 No confirmed time of airing has been mentioned yet as back in November of last year Vincent and Ashley were reportedly headed back to the recording studio to start on their voiceovers for the upcoming reboot.

Chronicles of Narnia- Currently under production

The Chronicles of Narnia are children’s book series comprising of seven books that have adapted into various forms of media like stage and screen throughout the years. The most recent adaptation of the beloved series have been the three Disney movies; The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and Voyage of The Dawn Trader.

Netflix had reportedly acquired the rights to adapting the books into a TV series back in 2018.

Production

According to The New York Times, reported on 2nd July 2023, Greta Gerwig was set to produce atleast two films based on The Chronicles of Narnia books for Netflix.

As she had also been working on the new Barbie movie that premiered on summer of 2023 at the time of the interview, very little information on the production was disclosed as she mentioned she still hadn’t started wrapping her arms around it.

Expected Date

As the films are only in very stages of its production, little to information on its expected release or its cast has been disclosed yet.

Totally Spies- Currently under production

The hit animated TV show that defined the 2000’s aesthetic and ruled the early 2000’s is back again after ten years!

The show depicted the life of three teenage high-school girls who were also undercover spies.

Totally Spies lasted for six seasons and a prequel movie and it gained enough attention to have a promotional event at the Palace of Versailles.

Production

The upcoming season has been picked up by Warner Bros. Discovery from Banijay Kids & Family and will be titled ‘Woohp World’. The seventh season is said to follow its previous schedule with a total of 26 episodes, each running for 22 minutes.

Expected Date

As of yet no official release date has been declared, however it is known that the season is set to premiere in 2024 as posted by the official twitter account of Toon Hive.
