His dedication to the role of Baahubali, along with his charismatic presence, made him a household name in India and expanded his popularity internationally. Besides his acting career, Prabhas is known for his down-to-earth personality and commitment to his work.
Controversy on prabhas’s status
This actor’s craze is seen to be everywhere in india and also globally. Recently, prabhas’s wax statue has been set up in the mysuru museum in karnataka. The statue represents Prabhas in the character of Bahubali. This has made room for a big controversy.
The issue being that nobody took the permission of the owners of the film before making the statue of Prabhas as bahubali and showcasing it to people. This has made the producer, Shobhu yarlagadda very unhappy. The producer has released a statement expressing that no permission was taken from him before making such a statue and presenting it in public.
Comments on social media
The producer expressed his displeasure on twitter and has also said that legal action will be taken as soon as possible to get the statue removed as it is not an officially licensed work.
People have taken different sides on this issue. Some people believe that the statute doesn’t even look like prabhas and is more similar to Ram charan’s character in RRR. Although, that’s not true because the statue looks more like bahubali only. Statement like, it looks more like RRR character is just to divert the attention to a whole new level from this issue. On the other hand some are saying that only the costume matches Bahubali’s character, which can be true somewhere.
Some trolls are having fun in the controversy passing comments on social media like , ‘Naptol Prabhas’, ‘David Warner with long hair’, Amarendra John Wick Bahubali’ are some of the comments the statue has triggered.
Museum authority’s confession
Now the issue has been resolved due to the careful behaviour by the museum authorities as they have accepted that the statue was present in the museum since December, 2022. However, the photo got viral later. To which they accept that they didn’t know about the permission factor that you have to take permission before making somebody’s statue belonging to a film. They have apologized to the producer also for setting up the statue without his permission. Also expressing that they have already initiated the process to get the statue removed. With this, demanding that no legal action is taken against them.
The authorities of the film have not yet responded to this apology. So we have to see what happens further whether the museum will be dragged in court or not. Although, if they are ready to get the statue removed, there should be no issue further as it was a mistake done unknowingly by the museum as they claim.
