Rising Tensions Heat Up Ahead of the Election

The bypoll will be held on November 13 and for Priyanka it’s a tough competition because there are two more experienced leaders in front of her,  CPI leader Sathyan Mokeri and Kozhikode municipal councillor Navya Haridas from BJP.

The Congress is focusing on increasing Priyanka’s majority, and they are much more confident about winning the Wayanad seat. This is the first time when the Gandhi family is campaigning together  for any election in Kerala. After 2016 this is the first time when Sonia Gandhi went for any election campaign.

The bypoll is going to be held at a time when Wayanad has yet to recover from the devastating landslide of July 30. And for that, Congress and LDF party continuously criticised the BJP government for declaring a relief package for the affected village.
