Pune Porsche Accident: The misconduct of changing the blood samples, who is to be actually blamed for the death of 2 people?

The Pune Porsche Accident case , which has gathered the general public attention because of leniency in punishment of the accused , delayed justice to the victims and several misconducts happening all around the accident case.

Introduction

On 19th May, 2024, the accident happened in Kalyani Nagar, Pune has shook the nation to core. The accused is a 17 year old minor who was driving Porsche on the streets with the speed of approximately 160 Km/h under the influence of alcohol, he lost control, knocking out 2 people who were travelling on bike at night. The victims are identified as Aneesh and Ashwini, software engineers from Madhya Pradesh working in Pune. The accused is a son of the builder/ real estate developer Vishal Agarwal. The victims were said to be returning from a dinner with their friends late at night when this unfortunate accident took place, the case is being accused as a Hit and Run, one of a friend of the victims filed and FIR against the accused demanding justice for their friends.

The case just does not stops here, the minor was arrested after the FIR and was released after merely 15 hours, after being told to write an essay on “safety while being on roads” as a condition for his bail. All these things added fuel to fire as public on India questions leniency in punishment and discrimination on how justice is served on the basis of being rich or poor. After the bail, the police went ahead and asked them to review their order. After that the bail plea of the accused stood cancelled and he was then sent to the rehabilitation center and is said to be their till 5th June. The FIR was filed against the accused’s father as he allowed his son to drive a car which did not had a number plate and the driving license. The workers and owner of the pub are also accused for serving alcohol to people below 18.


There has been several major misconducts going on in this accident case almost regurlarly. The father of the accused called up his family driver late at night after the accident and asked him to take the blame of accident, by stating that he was the one driving the car and not his son, mother of the accused allegedly emotionally blackmailed the driver into doing this too. The driver was promised many things after he takes the blame on him. The driver was made to sit in a room of the bungalow, his phone was taken too. Next day the wife of the driver went to search his husband, she created a scene at the bungalow and to shut her up she was also promised many things if his husband owns the blame. Later after the investigation and questioning with the driver, he revealed that he was under pressure to take the blame of accident. And not just this the doctors of the Sassoon General hospital were bribed by the family members of the accused to change the blood samples of the accused which claimed that the accused was indeed drunk while driving, it is claimed that a hefty amount of 3 lakhs is paid to the doctors to replace the blood samples of the accused with other one, the original blood samples were thrown in the dustbin of the hospital and it was also stated that it took the doctors a lot of time give the reports of the blood samples.


We cant help just wait and pray that justice shall be served, irrespective of every discrimination.
