With Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the Indian squad for the final test, the team is contemplating a strategic shift, possibly opting for three pacers, considering both Bumrah’s prowess and the prevailing weather conditions. Bumrah’s ability to trouble even the most accomplished English batters, notably Joe Root, adds weight to this consideration. His return injects a new dimension of unpredictability and potency into India’s bowling attack, presenting a formidable challenge for the English side. The team’s decision will likely hinge on a careful assessment of various factors, including pitch conditions, player fitness, and the tactical advantage offered by a three-pace attack.

Before the series commenced, cricket pundits anticipated England to pose a formidable challenge, renowned for their fearless brand of cricket under Head Coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes. However, as the series unfolded, the widening gulf between the two teams became evident. Despite initial expectations, England struggled to match the level of performance displayed by their opponents.

McCullum’s influence, though anticipated to inject dynamism and aggression into England’s gameplay, seemingly fell short of expectations as the series progressed. The disparity in performance highlighted shortcomings within the England camp, raising questions about their ability to adapt and compete at the highest level. Ultimately, the series outcome underscored the need for England to reassess their strategies and regroup to meet the challenges posed by formidable opponents. Though, the match is a dead rubber but there are important World Test Championship points on the line with England currenly sitting at 8th position.
