Ranveer Singh actually posted a picture of Maldives instead of Lakshadweep. Recently, he has stepped into the field to promote tourism in Indian islands.
Promoting Maldives Instead of Lakshadweep
On January 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Union Territory of Lakshadweep and some of his pictures were shared on social media. As the pictures went viral, many people compared the place to Maldives and claimed it to be a better tourist spot than Maldives. After that, the X-Conflict began.
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh recently joined hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote Indian island tourism. In the meantime, the hero is in trouble by posting wrong things on social media. The promotional post mistakenly used a picture of the Maldives instead of an Indian island.
When netizens recently started a war on social media over India and Maldives, Ranveer made this happen. As a result, he has come under fire on X (formerly known as Twitter). However, as soon as he got it wrong, he deleted the post and shared it again without the image.
Corrected the Promoting Post
‘Gully Boy’ wanted to feature the Indian island in his promotional post but inadvertently faced flak for using a picture of the Maldives instead. But despite the correction, netizens are not shutting up.
Ranveer corrected his mistake and posted it again. This time, he posted another post with only the caption, This year in 2024, let’s visit India. Let’s create 2024 with our cultural experience. There is so much to see across the beach. Our country is rich in beauty. Let’s explore the beaches of India. ‘Explore Indian Islands’. Let’s visit India.
Promoting Lakshadweep Concept
Ranveer Singh is in the news about Lakshadweep. Like other stars, he also participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lakshadweep tourism campaign. He also posted pictures on social media. But therein lies the problem. Amidst the diplomatic problems between Maldives and India, Ranveer posted a picture of Maldives instead of Lakshadweep and that post created a lot of noise on the net.
After sharing the Lakshadweep photo, Maldivian Minister Marium Shiuna made rude comments about Modi on Twitter. The Deputy Minister for Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts called the Indian Prime Minister a ‘clown’ and ‘puppet of Israel’. The screenshot of that tweet is spreading on social media. The tweet, however, has now reportedly been deleted. G24H did not verify the authenticity of the tweet.
Akshay Kumar has come out against insulting the Prime Minister. Hateful and racist comments against Indians have been received from Maldivian dignitaries, writes Akshay. I am surprised to see them saying this to the country that sends them the most tourists. We are good to our neighbors but should we tolerate such unprovoked hatred? I have been to the Maldives many times and have always admired the country, but dignity first.
#ExploreIndianIslands and support our own tourism. After Akshay’s tweet, stars like Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Karthik Aaryan, Randeep Hooda, Shraddha Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Pooja Hegde came forward. Not only stars, common people also expressed anger on social media after such comments of the Minister of Maldives.
