Harris’s “closing argument” near the Capitol is filled with hope and systematic change instead of the fear and chaos incited by Trump on January 6th, 2021. The Presidential candidate had the final leg of her campaign at the Ellipse in Washington D.C. She addressed the massive crowd of over 70,000 supporters with the White House behind her.

The Harris campaign carefully chose the venue to relay a subtle message to the viewers. This was the place where the January 6th chaos was started. The Former President, Donald Trump, addressed his supporters encouraging them to dismiss the “fake election”. At Ellipse, he started the fire 3 years ago leading to the failed coup. It was a place ruined by fearmongering, violence and chaos. By addressing the American public at the same spot, Kamala Harris reclaims the Capitol. She rejuvenated the air with hope, order and peaceful action.

Appealing to the undecided voters: 2024 Election Trump card

Kamala Harris addressed the various undecided voters across the nation. It is well known by both campaigns that the 2024 election is a close race. In the final sprint, the undecided voters would the difference between the next President and a former presidential candidate. Harris was not recognisable to Americans with a short campaign inherited from President Biden. Keeping that in focus, Kamala Harris introduces herself and her credentials for the voter’s consideration. From a District Attorney to the Vice Presidency, she laid down her qualifications for the Oval Office.

Campaign Promises

Vice President Harris explains her vision for America. She breaks down her “to-do list” she plans on implementing if elected as the 47th President of the United States. She covered key points such as lowering housing prices, health care access and protection of abortion rights. While these are her attractive policy promises, I am unsure if these will win over the undecided voters. The policy on immigration and the economy needs to be highlighted as those are Donald Trump’s key points. Irrespective of those criticisms, the United States VP gave a compelling speech filled with the American spirit.

Call for Action: “New generation of leadership”

As a younger candidate, Kamala Harris encouraged the voters to consider a “new generation of leadership”. She recognised the decision fatigue among voters. Americans are sick of the election circus. They want change. They want their representative to carry out actions. They are fed up with empty promises in exchange for their votes. Ms Harris reflected on her plan of action for the American people. Letting them know she will fight for them no matter what. She fights for them irrespective of political points. She promised to place the people and country over politics. She encouraged everyone to come out and vote for their country’s future. A call for action for democrats, republicans, independents and most importantly Americans.

Kamala Harris warns about the implications of having a President Trump in 2024. He will have an “enemy from within” list that would be his first order of business as President. Harris promises to carry a “to-do list” into the Oval Office. Harris continues to highlight the difference between herself and her opponent. She wants to paint the picture to emphasise the importance to the voters.

Despite her highs and lows, Kamala Harris has rested her case for the jury to settle on their verdict. The public would make their verdict on November 5th. Only time and some luck can tell.
