Three years after Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise Rhea Chakraborty opened up in a recent interview how her family was her source of strength during the tough times. As a keynote speaker on Day 2 of the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2023, the actress participated in a session called Rising from the Ashes and Finding herself.
Rhea Chakraborty noted in the session that her family had supported her through the challenging time in life and had been her biggest source of solace in the trying moments that followed the actor’s death. The actress praised her family and attributed her strength to her army upbringing. She stated her resilience came from her family.
She also said that as her father was in the army, he gave her advice at the peak of her challenging times drawing from his own experiences in the army. He told her that when one gets shot in the army, they do not lie down and go but instead, they stand up and take the bullet shoulder. He further added that if they have to go, they will go but at least they would have given themselves a fighting chance.
The actress further added that her parents, brother and her friend Nidhi who was also present at the interview stood up for her in her tough times alongside Anisha, Shibani Dandekar, and a few of her other friends. She commented that the people beside her were a handful of people and were facing violent mobs in sizes of millions.
Rhea Chakraborty further advised that one just needs three or four people who love and trust them. She called them pillars of sanity and further told audiences that if you have these people you are good and golden. Audience members were surely moved and impacted by her interview.

Rhea Chakraborty shared the video of her interview captioning it, ‘Fauji Ki Beti’ which translates to a soldier’s daughter. The superstar from the South, Samantha Prabhu further shared the video on her Instagram story tagging Rhea with heart emojis and calling her a hero. Reposting it on her Instagram stories, Rhea Chakraborty appreciated the actress’s solidarity and wrote with heart emojis, ‘Right Back at you’. The actress along with many others has been appreciative of the support she has received during her tough times and throughout her career.

In 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra flat. This sparked a huge controversy as the late actor’s father filed a case against Rhea Chakraborty, his then-girlfriend for money laundering and abetment to suicide. This controversy blasted Rhea Chakraborty across national media tabloids. The Central Bureau of Investigation quickly received the case. In order to look into allegations of drug use and money laundering, the Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau also became involved. Moreover, the allegations made against her are yet to be proven by authorities.
