Russia to make changes in its Nuclear Policy due to the action of West in Ukraine:

In a new development on Sunday, Russia will be making changes to the Nuclear policy on the use of the weapons due to the escalations by the West in Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian state media who quoted Sergei Ryabkov who’s the Deputy Foreign Minister.

Existing Nuclear Doctrine:

Russian President Vladimir Putin in the current nuclear doctrine had a decree set out that they can make use of the Nuclear Weapons in case of any nuclear attack by an adversary or an attack by them which could threaten the sovereignty of the country. The Russian President described the Nuclear Doctrine as a living statement.

Putin while describing the Nuclear doctrine as a living statement said that the doctrine could change which would depend on the events which could occur world-wide. The statement of Foreign Ministers on Sunday made it clear that the changes would be indeed made to the doctrine.

The Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the work is at an advanced stage and they have a clear intention to make corrections which was quoted by the Russian state news agency.

The Minister also said that this decision is connected to the escalation from their enemies from the West in Ukraine. Moscow has also accused the West of using Ukraine to wage a war against them to inflict a strategic defeat and breaking Russia apart.

However, this accusation was denied by the United States and the allies by saying that they are trying to aid Ukraine so that they can defend themselves against Russia who’s having a colonial style of aggression.

The Red Lines:

Ukraine had in the last month surprised Russia by piercing their Western border by the incursion of thousands of Ukrainian troops which Russia is still fighting hard. The Ukrainian President had said that the operation is the mockery of the Red Lines. He is also trying hard for the United States to permit them to use the advanced weapons of the West so that they can target the targets which are in Russia.
The representative of Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov on Sunday has said that the Western countries are going too far and they would do everything to protect their interests.
However, the Foreign Minister has not given the deadline of when the updated nuclear doctrine will be ready. He said that to complete this work it’s a difficult question because they are working with important points of national interest.
Russia has possession of most nuclear weapons in the World as compared to any other country. Putin had also said in March that they are ready for a supposed nuclear war but at the same time he said that there’s no rush for Nuclear confrontation because they have never felt the urge to use the same against Ukraine.

However, this is not the first time that there have been threats of using nuclear weapons if any country tries to harm the sovereignty of the country. These threats have been coming from Russia, ever since the full scale invasion operation from them in February 2022.

When Russia declared the full-blow invasion operation of Ukraine in early 2022, they said that any adversary who would attempt to threaten or hinder would suffer dire consequences which they might have never faced in their history.  This speech was given by Putin when he had launched a special military operation against Ukraine in an invasion of Ukraine. He proclaimed how Russia is the leading nuclear power and how they possess some advantage.

He also said that no adversary should have any doubt that an attack on their country would lead to dire consequences on the aggressor.
