What’s the Tawaif culture?
During the Mughal Period women from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan were brought to Heera Mandi to entertain the royal court, these women were skilled in various forms of art including music, dance, poetry. “ I like the way how multiple stories are running at the same time yet the viewer doesn’t feel confused as the story with its pace self explains the past scenes. I love web series for the fiery lady roles and here I see Mallikajan as the fiery lady when she went and save Lajjo’s respect in front of everyone when Nawab slapped Lajjo. The next scene I liked was the duo of the two sisters – Alamzeb and Bibbo , the way Bibbo helps Alam at all stages is so nice and heartwarming to see. The rivalry between Fareedan and Mallika seems a bit slow and it was hard to find who are the protagonist, Mallikajan was shown negative so I am assuming her to be the antagonist, but in front of her were many protagonists like Fareedan, Cartwright, Waheeda but If I have to pick I will pick her daughter Alamzeb as the protagonist as she had to fight her own mother at various instances in various issues. Negatives: – – Too much songs (don’t know but does the director wants to show Mujra again n again?)”
