Document by Hong Kong tells teenagers , Play badminton as a diversion for sexual temptation

Hong Kong Authorities have released a new Sex education guidelines which discourages Premarital Sex by providing Avoiding  Diversion techniques . The main aim of the guidelines is to accelerate the responsibilities of young people to make their future .The officials stressed the significance of controlling the impulses .

The Hong Kong teenagers’ knowledge about sex education is declining hence making sex education mandatory will provide every children proper sex health information. The actual problem when to teach , how to teach and who should teach . Making sex education mandatory may lead to triggering in the minds of young children . According to a census only 23% of students are comfortable with talking about Sex education b their teachers , remaining students are not mentally ready to listen to it

The South China Morning Post newspaper questioned in the headline last week ,“Is badminton the Hong Kong answer to sexual impulses in schoolchildren?”

The Education Bureau ( EDB) published the Sex Ed Material in a 70 page document last week which includes worksheets for adolescents and guidelines for teachers. The Documents emphasized on Avoidance of date or having Sexual behaviors in Early life and also advised people regarding love relationship intimacy limitations.

The Document highlighted that it is normal for people to have sexual desires or fantasies but we must acknowledge that we are the masters of our Desires and thoughts and should keep it in our control and think it twice before acting towards our desires instead of getting controlled by  them 

The Curriculum suggested that the sexual impulses can be controlled by avoiding publications or Media which is serving as a main reason for its stimulation and also recommended certain exercises / activities to fight against undesirable stimulations.The authorities also warned the Students to dress up properly and avoid Sexy clothing which can lead to visual stimulation

Criticism of the Sex Ed Document

The Critics said the guidelines were irresponsible . The materials were regressive , stereotype-based and insufficient . The young people also made numerous commands / mockeries in social media reacting to the headlines followed by Sex ed material ,saying Out of touch and  also said that the advice can be used as a new slang .The young people of China ,Taiwan and Hong Kong usually uses slangs to convey about sex and thanked the education bureau for creating a new slang  

Chong ,a executive director at a local school said that the guidelines wasn’t adequate for its young audience and warning on dressing sense is much concerned which induces sexually assaulting individuals to create a rape myth 

Christine Choi , the education Secretary expressed a good criticism that the guidelines was not much cringe which serves as a protective way to young people and a type of moral imperative  

The Critics also said that the guidelines must teach young ones to respect themselves and build up responsibilities to develop their future and control on their intimacy limits  and should not impose blanket condemnation on their premarital sex which is unrealistic

The main Criticism is that most of the students may not be comfortable in talking about Sex which may pressurize them to learn about it . The second thing is that the contents and techniques provided in the Sex Education document was out dated which tells people to play Badminton when intimate / Sexual behaviors raise in their minds . The techniques seemed mockery for the students.
