In April, obscene videos allegedly showing Revanna sexually abusing several women surfaced, just days before the Hassan constituency in Karnataka voted in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. It is reported that he traveled to Germany the same month using his diplomatic passport.

A Special Court in Bengaluru on Wednesday denied the anticipatory bail plea of suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, who is accused of sexually abusing several women. The special court for elected representatives dismissed the bail application filed by his advocate Arun.

On May 18, the Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant for Prajwal following a request by the SIT. Subsequently, the SIT arrested his father, JD(S) MLA H. D. Revanna, who is allegedly involved in kidnapping the woman. Attention is now focused on Kempegowda International Airport, where Prajwal is expected to arrive on May 31, and the SIT plans to arrest him upon landing.

Meanwhile, Prajwal’s mother, Bhavani Revanna, has sought anticipatory bail from the special court for elected representatives, fearing arrest in the related kidnapping case. The SIT has objected to her bail request and also sought to cancel the interim anticipatory bail granted to H. D. Revanna. The court has reserved its decision on Revanna’s anticipatory bail for May 31.
