Shraddha Kapoor has surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to become the third most followed Indian on Instagram. On the list, she is now slowly approaching Priyanka Chopra.

Stree 2’s enormous success is not only bringing Shraddha Kapoor the recognition she deserves, but also celebrity. The actress has now surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi by a small margin to become the third most followed Indian on Instagram. At 2:40 PM on August 21, 2024, the politician had 91,391,797 followers, while the actress had 91,518,357.

With 91.8 million followers, Priyanka Chopra is in second place behind Shraddha, while cricket player Virat Kohli is king with 271 million Instagram fans. Following Shraddha, the most followed Indian singer on Instagram is Neha Kakkar (78.7M), Deepika Padukone (79.8M), Alia Bhatt (85.1M), and Katrina Kaif (80.4M).

For those who don’t know, Salman Khan, who ranks 10th overall on the list, has 69.3 million followers on Instagram, making him the most followed male Indian actor. It should be highlighted, though, that with 101.2 million followers, PM Modi is still the most popular global leader on X, formerly Twitter. He is far ahead of other well-known figures like Pope Francis, Sheikh Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai, and US President Joe Biden.

Regarding other Indian leaders, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has 27.6 million followers on X, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has 26.7 million.

Right now, Shraddha Kapoor’s film Stree 2 is making news. Co-produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, the film is helmed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt. In addition to Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana playing significant parts, this fifth episode of Maddock Supernatural Universe features unexpected cameos from Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar.

In a technical sense, Amar Kaushik directed one of the most popular films in the years following the release of Covid-19, Stree 2. Amar recently discussed how he produced a box office smash without depending on major actors in an interview with Connect Cine. He also discussed the value of storytelling over star power.

I’m not sure about other films, but we don’t chase stars’, Kaushik remarked, clarifying that he doesn’t base his stories on celebrities but rather develops the narrative first and then selects the appropriate actors. “I remember thinking, ‘Where is the story?’ five years ago, feeling the same way as the audience,” Amar continued. The fact that everything centered around the celebrity bothered me.

The director believes that the audience is well-informed and aware of the products the directors are attempting to promote. He emphasized the need of making films that audiences can relate to. Amar considers it his duty to entertain the crowd and hopes they will leave the theaters happy. “A star has immense value, but not everything should center around them,” Kaushik continued.

Subsequently, Amar discussed Akshay Kumar’s unexpected appearance and disclosed that he made contact with the celebrity during their collaboration on Sky Force. Akshay agreed to it right away after hearing the chat. “Akshay sir had a great time on the set. He provided several takes since he wanted different takes of the same scene. Amar said, “I was just loving his energy and finding it so enjoyable.”

Go watch Stree 2 in your nearby Theaters.
