Sidharth Malhotra, the heartthrob of millions turns 39 today, 16 January, 2024. In his 11 years of Bollywood career, always comes with lots of ups and downs not only professionally but also personally. With some hits and some average hits he faced a lot of opticals to achieve his position in this huge Bollywood industry. On his 39th birthday, let’s look back at his entire journey in Bollywood.

Siddharth Malhotra personal Life:

Sidharth Malhotra born on 16th January, 1985 in Delhi. His father’s name is Sunil Malhotra who is a former captain in Merchant Navy and his mother Rimma Malhotra is a homemaker. He studied in Delhi’s Don Bosco School then Naval Public School and completed his graduation from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Delhi University . He started his career as a model when he was 18 years old but dropped it four years later with dissatisfaction. Later he started acting in Television before working as an assistant director in Drama Production film’s My Name is Khan.

In late 2010s the rumours spread about him dating his first film’s co-star Alia Bhatt, though none of them except their relationship. In 2019 he accepted their relationship after they parted. In the beginning of 2020, his relationship news again came into focus as the rumours spread about him dating his Shershaah co-star Kiara advani, but they didn’t speak anything in public. On 7 February 2023 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan the couple tied the knot.

Sidharth Malhotra’s Career:

Sidharth Malhotra started his acting career through television serial Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan in 2006 where he played the role of Jaichand. Being interested in Film, he gave a successful audition in director Anubhav Sinha’s film but the film was stopped then in 2010, he worked as an assistant director in Karan Johar’s film My Name is Khan. He made his debut as a lead actor in Bollywood through Student of the Year with two newcomers Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. CNN-IBN’s Film critic Rajeev Masand called his performance pleasing and earnest. As Student of the Year became a hit in the Bollywood box-office and earned ₹1.09 billion worldwidely.

Then in 2014, he worked in a romantic comedy film opposite Parineeti Chopra in the film Hasee toh Phasee. Praising his acting, NDTV’S film critic Saibal Chatterjee compares his acting with young aged Amitabh Bachchan. The film also performed well and earned ₹620 million globally.

That year he worked in a romantic Thriller film Ek Villain, directed by Mohit Suri with Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor. This film achieved commercial success and earned ₹1.7 billion worldwidely. This film added his name to the list of Successful Bollywood Actors. In 2015, he worked in a remake film of American Movie Warrior entitled as Brother, directed by Karan Malhotra, with Akshay Kumar. Though this film left a negative impact at the box office.

In 2016, he worked on two films, the first one is with Dharma Productions titled Kapoor & Sons opposite Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan, directed by Shakun Batra. This film also became a hit and earned ₹ 1.53 billion globally and second one is Nitya Mehra’s directed Romantic Comedy film Baar Baar Dekho with Katrina Kaif.

In late 2017, he acted for Fox- Star Studios film A Gentleman, directed by Krishna D.K. and Raj Nidimoru, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez though it became a flop. In 2017, he worked in a 1969s mystery thriller movie Ittefaq with Sonakshi Sinha which was praised by Critics but failed in Box office.

In 2018, he worked with Manoj Bajpayee and Rakul Preet Singh in Neeraj Pandey’s film Aiyaary which earned ₹ 183.1 million globally.

In 2019 his rom-com film with Parineeti Chopra titled Jabariya Jodi failed in Box Office. In the same year he worked in Marjaavaan an action film, directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, starring Tara Sutaria and Ritesh Deshmukh.

In 2021, he acted in a biographical war film Shershaah, based on an Indian Army officer’s life named Captain Vikram Batra, alongside Kiara Advani but due to COVID Pandemic, the makers decided to release it on Amazon Prime Video.

In 2022 his fantasy comedy film Thank God hits the theatres co-staring Rakul Preet Singh and Ajay Devgan failed in Box Office. This year he worked in Mission Majnu as an Indian Spy in a thriller movie plotted in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 with Rashmika Mandanna.

Currently he is working in Dharma Productions produced an action movie named Yodha co-starring with Raashi Khanna and Disha Patani and in Rohit Shetty’s action thriller Police procedural movie named Indian Police Force with Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty Kundra which will be released in Amazon Prime Video.

Awards:

He received Stardust awards Student of the Year as Breakthrough Performance in 2013. He won big Entertainment Award in 2014 as a most entertaining actor in male for Hasse toh Phase and Star Plus entertainer of the year. He received Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2022 for Shershaah as a powerhouse performer. He also won Lokmat Stylish Awards in 2021, Pinkvilla Style Icons Awards in 2022, Bollywood Hungama Style Icons in 2023 in Stylish actor Category.

Mrs. Sidharth Malhotra aka Actress Kiara Advani, wife of Sidharth Malhotra threw a birthday bash for her husband as she shared photos of theme-based cake and her with Siddharth, she wrote my love. She also shared a video on Instagram where the love birds shared a passionate kiss. Kiara Advani’s partner Genevieve Jaffrey and Jagdeep Advani also spotted in the birthday bash. Along with family members, Sidharth’s close friends are also spotted at his birthday party. Along with Karan Johar, Pooja Shetty, director Shakun Batra and many others.

As his friends such as Varun Dhawan, Rakul Preet Singh, Ramesh Turani, Nikitin Dheer, Raashi Khanna, Isha Talwar, Manish Malhotra, Manish Paul, Aayushman Khurana, Shilpa Shetty also wish him for his 39th birthday.
