As confirmed by Zaheer’s father, Iqbal Ratansi, it will be a civil marriage, followed by a lively party at the upscale Mumbai restaurant, Bastian, on Linking Road, Bandra West.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, the famous couple, are all set to get married today (Sunday) after keeping their relationship private for years. They will be throwing a wedding reception at a popular Mumbai restaurant filled with Bollywood music, as shared by DJ Ganesh in an interview with Dubai Brew.

The duo will exchange their vows at an intimate ceremony, with just their near and dear ones present. Their friends and colleagues from the industry will grace the wedding reception with their presence.

DJ Ganesh mentioned that Sonakshi and Zaheer have extended invitations to approximately 1000 guests for their wedding reception. He said that Sonakshi is hosting a private reception at Bastian in Dadar and 1,000 guests have been invited, so, it is going to be a full-on Bollywood mix until 4 in the morning.

The DJ recently entertained guests at actress Rakul Preet Singh’s extravagant wedding with producer Jackky Bhagnani in Goa. He also showcased his skills at actor Randeep Hooda’s wedding celebration.

Previous Functions

The wedding festivities started this week with a family gathering of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal on Thursday, followed by a mehendi ceremony on Friday night. Earlier this week, Zaheer Iqbal, along with his family, was pictured with Sonakshi’s father, the renowned actor Shatrughan Sinha, in Mumbai. The pair looked very happy.

Yesterday evening, a prayer ceremony took place at Shatrughan Sinha’s Mumbai home, Ramayana. The soon-to-be bride looked stunning in a blue traditional attire.

Huma Qureshi, who is Sonakshi’s dear friend and co-star in Double XL, also attended the event. She was accompanied by her brother Saqib Saleem. Numerous photos and videos of the soon-to-be bride and her parents – legendary actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha – surfaced on various social media platforms.

The pair will officially tie the knot today with a registered marriage taking place at the guy’s flat in Bandra. Ahead of the big day on Sunday, they threw an indoor bash for close ones on June 20 and had a mehendi ceremony on June 21. Sonakshi’s folks, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, were present at the party too.

Sonakshi and Zaheer have kept their mouths shut and had not revealed about their relationship ever since rumours about them dating started spreading. They appeared together in the movie Double XL in 2022.

Although they have not officially spoken about their romance, they have been posting pictures together on social media. Rumours suggest that they began their relationship in 2020. The pair is commonly seen together at public gatherings and regularly share pictures from their trips.

Sonakshi Sinha would not convert to Islam after the marriage

The father of the groom-to-be, the businessman-jeweller Iqbal Ratnasi, recently confirmed that Sonakshi will not be converting to Islam. He mentioned that the couple will have a marriage ceremony under the Special Marriage Act.

He added that the marriage will not involve any Hindu or Muslim customs and will be a civil marriage. He also clarified the rumours about Sonakshi converting to Islam. He explained that she will not convert and added that their relationship is based on love, and religion is not a factor.

He said that he believes in humanity and does not consider religion to rule over love. He further added that Hindus refer to God as Bhagwan, while Muslims call Him Allah and ultimately, all are human beings. He said that his blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.
