Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur was a deserved one. The Blues were the better team overall, and they took advantage of Spurs’ numerical disadvantage in the second half.

The defeat will be a wake-up call for Tottenham Hotspur. They will need to improve their performances, and bring the best out of their deputy players if they want to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Spurs start brightly but Chelsea come back

Tottenham Hotspur started Monday night’s Premier League clash against the Blues brightly, taking the lead in just the 6th minute through Dejan Kulusevski. The Swedish winger’s deflected effort was too much for goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to handle, and the home crowd were in raptures.

However, Chelsea responded well to the early setback, and kept on fighting. Following a red card given to World Cup Winning Defender, Christian Romero, Cole Palmer netted in the 35th Minute with a Penalty.

The rest of the first half was evenly contested, with both teams having chances to score. However, neither side was able to find the back of the net, and the half-time score remained 1-1 and with Spurs with 10 men on the pitch.

Spurs reduced to nine men and lose control

The second half started in a similar manner to the first, with both teams having chances to score. However, the game took a dramatic turn in the 55th minute when Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie was sent off for a second bookable offense.

Chelsea’s front foot start to the half was rewarded with a goal in the 75th minute from Nicolas Jackson. Jackson scored again in the 90th+4 and 90th+7 minutes to complete his hat-trick and seal the victory for Chelsea.

Despite being down to nine men, Tottenham came close to equalising on a few occasions, but Chelsea was able to hold on for a 4-1 victory.

The match was a controversial one, with many VAR decisions being made. However, Chelsea’s victory was definitely deserved. Nicolas Jackson’s hat-trick was the difference between the two sides and this change in fortune will be a welcome one for the Senegalese Number 9.

Spurs’ unbeaten start comes to an end and leaves questions for Postecoglou

The defeat to Chelsea was Tottenham’s first Premier League defeat of the season, and it ended their unbeaten start to the campaign. The defeat also leaves Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou with some questions to answer and some problems to solve.

Postecoglou’s side was reduced to nine men in the second half, but they still had a number of chances to score, especially in the first half. However, they were unable to take their chances, and they were eventually punished by Chelsea.

Postecoglou will also be concerned about his side’s defensive performance. Spurs conceded four goals against Chelsea, and they looked vulnerable at times, especially in the second half.

Overall, it was a disappointing night for Tottenham Hotspur. They were outplayed by Chelsea, and they deserved to lose. The defeat will be a wake-up call for Postecoglou and his players, and they will need to improve their performances if they want to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea was a tale of two halves. In the first half, Spurs were the better team, and they took a deserved lead through Dejan Kulusevski. However, Chelsea came back well in the second half, and they took control of the game after Spurs were reduced to nine men.

Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to seal the victory for his team. Jackson was a constant threat to the Spurs defense, and he was able to take his chances.

Tottenham’s manager Ange Postecoglou will be disappointed with his team’s performance, especially in the second half. Spurs were too easily opened up by Chelsea, and they conceded four goals. Postecoglou will need to improve his team’s defensive performance if they want to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
