The Indian entertainment industry is all set to enter 2024 with a basket of sequels to their acclaimed shows. Actors like Akshay Kumar, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, and Allu Arjun are all set to be back to their iconic roles in these much-awaited sequels.
Here is the list of the sequels to be released this year.

Mirzapur 3
Released in 2018, the Mirzapur series went on to be the most popular web series in India after Sacred Games. Presented by Excel Entertainment, it is directed by Karan Anshuman, Gurmeet Singh, and Mihir Desai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The story revolves around the family of Akhandanad Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi), known as Kaleen Bhaiya. The third installment is expected to be out in the last week of March.
Family man 3
Based on the life of a common man, Shrikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer with the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell ( TASC) , the first two seasons of the show gained immense popularity and received several awards. It had eleven Filmfare OTT awards and two awards at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and five Asian Academy creative awards. Manoj Bajapayee , who plays the role of Shrikant Tiwari, said in an interview with the Lallantop said that season 3 will be bigger than the previous season and is expected to be out in 2024.
Kota factory 3
Jeetendra Kumar returns in the third installment of the hit series, Kota Factory. The series is based on the lives of students to go to Kota to prepare for the entrance exams. The show was a massive hit as it resonated with the experiences of the majority. The new season will be out in September 2024.
Panchayat 3
The year 2024 is a year of double delight for Jeetendra Kumar a.k.a Jeetu Bhaiya as he will be returning to his much-loved show Panchayat 3. The first look of the show was revealed in December 2023. Amazon Prime video captioned their post and said they know the wait is unbearable so they have pictures for the audience from the set. The fresh season is expected in 2024.
Pushpa 2
The upcoming second installment of the hit movie Pushpa: The Rise is expected to be out on 15th August 2024. The total cost of the film is around Rs 500 crore which makes it one of the most expensive movies ever made. It is directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri movie makers. It stars Allu Arjun, Rasmika Mandana and Fahaad Faasil. The first installment earned Rs 360 crores and became the highest-grossing film of 2021 and is said to be the highest-grossing Telugu film ever made. It also won two National Film Awards for Best Actor and Best Music Direction.
Singham Again
In the fifth installment of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe and the sequel to Singham Returns (2014), Ajay Devgn is all set to be back in his iconic role of a cop, Bajirao Singham. The movie is scheduled to be released on 15th August 2024 i.e., on Independence Day. The plot follows the events of Singham Returns, Simba, and Sooryavanshi.
Stree 2
The much-anticipated sequel is all set to release on August 30, 2024. The success of Stree led to the creation of a horror comedy franchise with Roohi and Bhediya in its universe. The film is presented by Maddock Films and stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao. According to IMDB, the sequel is expected to release on August 30th, 2024.
Haseen Dilruba 2
Released on July 2nd 2021 on Netflix, it gained the title of the most-watched Hindi film on the platform as it reached the top 10 in 22 countries. It stars Taapsee Pannu, Harshvardhan Rane and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles. The sequel to the film was announced last year by the producer, who took to his X (formerly Twitter) and announced the second part, titled Phir Ayi Haseen Dillruba.
