“Gadar 2,” the Hindi film that premiered in theatres on August 11, 2023, is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” directed by Anil Sharma.
“Gadar 2” emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2023, achieving massive blockbuster status. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film continues the story of Tara Singh, Sakeena, and their son, exploring their lives in India many years after the original film’s events. Following the film’s successful release, Sunny Deol expressed his gratitude to the audience by penning a heartfelt note, thanking them for making the movie a blockbuster.

Set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, the film was among the highest-grossing Hindi movies of last year, ranking over rupees 600 crore worldwide at the box office
In “Gadar 2,” Tara Singh, played by Deol, goes back to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet ‘Jeete’ Singh, who was imprisoned during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The first film was set during the Partition.
