The Hospital Hoax

According to ANI, on June 18, similar emails threatening bombs were also sent to over 50 hospitals in the financial hub of India earlier in the day. The sender said that bombs were hidden in the restrooms and beneath the beds of several hospitals—Jaslok Hospital, JJ Hospital, KEM Hospital, Kohinoor Hospital, Raheja Hospital, Seven Hill Hospital, St. George Hospital, and others—and Mumbai police confirmed to ANI.

Police say that famous hospitals had threatening emails alleging that bombs were hidden in restrooms and under beds and that when they exploded, they would completely destroy the hospitals. The hospitals alerted the police right away after receiving the threats. Police and bomb disposal teams then searched the hospitals thoroughly, but they turned up nothing untoward.

The mail was sent from the website Beeble.com by the sender, who used a VPN network to do so. A police team and bomb squad searched the hospitals after getting the information, but they turned up nothing unusual, according to officials.

Bomb Threat at Hinduja College of Commerce

Additionally, authorities informed ANI that early on June 18, an email threatening bombs was even sent to Mumbai’s Hinduja College of Commerce. Following the threat letter, a police team and a bomb squad investigated the property; however, nothing unusual was discovered. The report also stated that the VP Road Police Station in Mumbai is investigating the situation.

Nationwide Airport Threats

The bomb threats were received on the same day as similar threats at 41 airports throughout the country, including Chennai, Patna, and Jaipur. This prompted authorities to quickly assemble backup plans and conduct extensive anti-sabotage investigations that took hours to complete, all of which turned out to be hoaxes.

The airports received nearly identical emails saying, “Hello, there are explosives hidden in the Airport. The bombs will soon explode. You will all die.” After receiving the threat, officials at the airports in Patna and Nagpur searched their premises thoroughly, but they were unable to find anything.

Anchal Prakash, the director of the Patna airport, stated that the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, along with 41 other airports, got an email containing a bomb threat. The meeting of the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was called to order and discovered that the threat was non-specific.

Hoax Delays Chennai-Dubai Flight

Due to the bogus threat, a 286-person flight from Chennai to Dubai was delayed at the airport. The IndiGo flight from Chennai to Mumbai received a bomb threat alert. The aircraft made a safe landing at the Mumbai airport at about 10.30 p.m. after receiving the information.

The airline acknowledged the bomb threat in a statement, stating that all procedures were followed and that all customers disembarked without incident. The crew followed procedure upon arriving in Mumbai, and the aircraft was transferred to an isolation bay, according to the airline. Every passenger has left the plane safely. The aircraft will be repositioned in the terminal area once all security checks are finished, according to our collaboration with the security services, the statement continued.
