The United States has expressed grave concerns over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s suggestion that Russia might supply weapons to North Korea, following the signing of a new defence pact between the two nations. This development heightens worries about regional stability and international security.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller highlighted the serious nature of the situation, stating that the potential supply of advanced weapons to North Korea would likely destabilize the Korean Peninsula and could violate U.N. Security Council resolutions that Russia has supported. Meanwhile, White House national security spokesperson John Kirby described the defence pact as a troubling development, underscoring Russia’s growing desperation.
