TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 7th edition of Asia’s largest technology event, the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023,  in New Delhi. The three-day technology event will be organized at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It is the same venue where the G20 summit was held before. The IMC is concertedly organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).                                                                      

 In his address PM Modi said, “Observing the technological advancements in India, I can say the future is here and now”. He also categorically stressed that the tech revolution steered by the country’s youth is remarkable. Honorable Prime Minister also recalled last year’s 5G rollout and said that the historic event happened as the world looked in bafflement.

“ From the roll-out stage, we went to the reach-out stage where we started to make the 5G available to the citizens. In one year of launch, there are about 4 lakh 5G stations in the country. With this 97% of cities and over 80% of the population are covered. India is heading towards becoming a global leader in 6G also”, PM Modi added.

He also emphasized that Internet Connectivity and speed enhancement also improve the ease of living standard. It also has a major impact on the socio-economic sphere. Access to capital, access to resources and access to technology are the crucial areas of the government. In India’s success story, its start-up ecosystem has a vital part to play. India’s start-up ecosystem is among the top three on the global stage.

THEME

The theme of IMC 2023 is “Global Digital Innovation”. With this, IMC aims to reinforce India’s position as a developer, manufacturer and exporter of technologies in the global market. This event emphasizes on strengthening 5G technology’s potential by encouraging the development of operations suited to India’s specific requirements and global conditions.

GLOBAL PARTICIPANTS

Above 1 lakh participants from 22 different countries are anticipated to take part in the mega event. This includes around 5000 CEO-rank delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups and other stakeholders. Conversations will be held on 6G, cybersecurity, semiconductors, AI, green tech and so on. With so many participants this event is set to become a world tech spectacle and a historic event.

‘ASPIRE’

The 7th edition of IMC will introduce a startup program- “Aspire”. This will help to make strong connections between startups, investors and established businesses to promote and encourage fresh entrepreneurial enterprise and collaborations.

This drive will stimulate innovation in different sectors like health, power, agriculture, education, transportation and others. The IMC will concentrate on the expansion of tech domains like sat-com, broadcast in collaboration with organizations like ISpA, IESA and others. Through pathbreaking innovations, the mission of IMC is to make India the leader of inclusive digital transformations that will help to mould the future.
