The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), starring Thalapathy Vijay, opened with a bang at the box office, making Tamil cinema history’s greatest opening ever. The film, which was directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, broke records for Tamil movies with its opening day earnings of an estimated Rs 55 crore throughout India. The impressive box office results demonstrate Vijay’s enormous fan following and the excitement that surrounds the release.

The action-drama-emotion film made its global premiere in over 4,000 theaters, which contributed significantly to its remarkable opening day gross.. On its first day, GOAT had remarkable occupancy rates of 76.23% nationwide, with Rs 38.3 crore coming from the Tamil edition alone. Despite receiving a somewhat poorer reception in other territories, the film also made Rs 1.7 crore from its Hindi release and Rs 3 crore from its Telugu release.

The movie is said to have made more than Rs 100 crore at the global box office.

Thalapathy;A Significant Premiere for Tamil Film

With its first day revenues, GOAT has become the third Vijay film to break the Rs 50 crore mark and the fifth overall Kollywood film to do so. The film’s earnings in Tamil Nadu alone were between Rs 32 to Rs 35 crore, which put it in the exclusive Rs 30 crore-plus club alongside Vijay’s earlier successes like Sarkar, Beast, and Leo. Early indications indicate that GOAT is on course to surpass Beast’s record of Rs 35 crore for the first day of sales.

The success of the picture was mostly down to Vijay’s star power, especially as it doesn’t rely on a compelling musical soundtrack or a cinematic world like Leo to entice viewers. Vijay’s supremacy at the Tamil Nadu box office is further cemented by the movie’s success, supporting his claim to be the “Greatest of All Time.”

Global Box Office Records and Contradictory Evaluations

GOAT has also had a great deal of success abroad. Just after Leo, the movie is said to have made Rs 110 crore worldwide on its opening day, making it the second Vijay film to do so. Industry observers predict that GOAT will rank among the highest-grossing Tamil films ever made in the coming days based on these figures.

GOAT received mixed reviews from critics despite being a huge box office hit. While the film received praise for its action-packed sequences and outstanding cast, several reviews criticized the lackluster adversary portrayal and poor character development..

GOAT Cast and Plot

In The Greatest of All Time, Akhil portrays a younger Jeevan, while Vijay plays two roles: M.S. Gandhi and Jeevan. Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mohan, Sneha, and Ajmal Ameer are among the supporting cast members. The fact that the movie’s premise is based on actual events, like the 2004 Moscow Metro explosion, makes it more captivating. Viewers’ interest in the film has increased due to its superb production quality and fascinating plot.

An astounding Rs 400 million was allocated to the production of GOAT, including Rs 200 crore for Vijay’s remuneration. The soundtrack for the movie was created by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while Venkat Raajen edited it and Siddhartha Nuni took care of the photography.
