India is hosting the three-day Maritime submit at MMRDA ground in Mumbai from October 17th to 19th. Today, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the third edition of the global Maritime India Summit 2023. He inaugurated 21 projects worth 18,800 crore to the nation and unveiled Amrit Kal Vision 2024 during the event.
He started with the remark that a new World order is taking shape and in this changing world order, everyone is looking at India with new aspirations. He says that history has witnessed India’s Maritime capabilities, which benefits us and the world

Amrit Kal Vision 2047
The Amrit Kal Vision 2047, a long-term blueprint for the Indian Maritime blue economy outlines strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing port facilities, promoting sustainable practices, and facilitating international collaborations. He and his administration have been working to strengthen this sector in a policy-bound manner for 9 to 10 years. He says that in Future the blue economy will be a medium to create a green planet.
PM Narendra Modi very proudly said that the days are not so far when India will be among the top 3 global economies, he also added that everyone is looking at India in the hope that we will lead a new World order. He says that the Indian economy is gathering the most strength while most of the world economies are in a crisis

Indian Maritime Submit 2023
The Indian Maritime industry will be boosted once the Indian-middle-East-Europe economic corridor gets implemented. Recently during the G20 summit, consensus was reached to form an Indian middle East economic corridor, this is a huge step which would potentially boost the maritime industry across the world in the 21st century.
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Tuna Tekra all-weather deep draft Terminal, which cost more than 4,500 crores at Deendayal port authority in Gujarat. This terminal will be developed on a public-private partnership model (PPP)

The 2023 summit is the biggest Maritime event hosted in the country, the first summit was held in 2016 in Mumbai and the second was held virtually in 2021. 70 various countries including UAE, South Africa, Armenia, Sri Lanka and more participated in the global Maritime summit hosted by the Ministry of Ports, shipping, and Waterways.
In These 3 days of the Maritime Summit, there would be discussion and deliberation on key issues like decarbonization, coastal shipping, inland water transportation, shipbuilding, repair and recycling, finance, insurance arbitration, innovation and technology, Maritime safety and securities, tourism etc. The summit will also provide a platform for attracting investment in the maritime sector.
It is a good Initiative on the side of India, one by one we are achieving big milestones, organizing such summits at such a large scale and our growing international engagement, reflects our ability to play a major role in shaping and leading a new world order. Having a long-term blueprint, Amrit Kal Vision 2047 says a lot about India’s capabilities to think in the long terms and have a proper strategic vision in place, Moreover having a very clear idea about our goals and needs.
